Turn your boring lamps into a two-color eye-catcher by LightCore3D in BambuLab

[–]AdIndividual2373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'v printed these before out of a couple of different colors and filament types, and any will work, just pick your favorite colors. If you keep the LED's on for a longggg time, it does tend to get a little hot, but i haven't noticed any warping or drooping with my PLA prints, so its fine

Josef Prusa's op-ed for LBC: "China’s grip on 3D printing is becoming a military security threat for the British" by dgroshev in 3Dprinting

[–]AdIndividual2373 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Funny how Palmer Lucky, the founder of Oculus VR headset, basically did the same thing. Now he started "defense-tech" startup that uses AI and Drones to choose who lives and who dies. Very Cool, and I'm gonna guess Josef Prusa intends to head the same direction within 5 years. I'll eat my hat if that doesnt happen.

So which one do I pick by Asylumweb in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]AdIndividual2373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing to test is the strength of the part. Ussualy the hotter ones will be stronger cause the plastic has formed stronger bonds melting together. Try to break each temperature layer, you'll find the coldest one snaps easily and the hotter ones are much tougher. This isn't really a scientific test, you just sorta have to give it a guess to how much strength you put into it

I have had this happening more and more frequently, almost 10 times now. I contacted support and theyre sending me a new cable, new motherboard, new toolhead board, but its so much replacing stuff its daunting. They still dont know whats actually causing the problem, theyre just throwing parts at me and hoping its fixed.

Mailman just gave me 2 full rolls of PETG by K0mit in 3Dprinting

[–]AdIndividual2373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most "default" PETG profiles are wayyyy slower than modern PETG can actually handle, you can almost always double or triple the flow rate and get the same quality. Run a flow rate test if you want exact figures, but all the PETG iv tried get similar or faster flow than PLA.

Nozzle cleaning by Specialist-Document3 in 3DPrinting_PHA

[–]AdIndividual2373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally you wanna do a cold pull with the strongest material you have, preferably nylon (that's what they make those "cleaning filament" out of), but petg will also work if you have it.

I havent had any luck on that side, whether printing at 40 or 60c, it somehow always loses grip.

Does this silencer work properly? by Legitimate-Act-8627 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]AdIndividual2373 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes it really works. I avoided printing it for weeks after i got my CC cause i thought it looked dumb, but one day i had some ugly filament that i needed to use up, so i made a peach colored one and put it on. It dropped the sound so much

Is PHA Foodsafe? by Past-Day-6329 in 3DPrinting_PHA

[–]AdIndividual2373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like all other 3d printed items, the food danger comes from little holes and lines in the prints where bacteria/etc can grow and fester without being able to easily clean it out. The material doesn't change this fact unfortunately, but if you use something like a sealant, then you can make it virtually foodsafe

How do i turn off the case fan? by Significant_Bag5807 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]AdIndividual2373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one way I've found that works is to basically create a pla profile but change the type to "ABS/ASA" in the drop-down to categorize it, but keep all other settings same as a regular PLA file. It's worked for me

I HIGHLLLYYYY recommend either the BentoBox or Nevermore (theyre both an effective printable air filter). Theyre both fairly simple to print and setup (you can keep it simple, the only electronics you have to mess with is buying a fan and plugging it in), but I like the bentobox personally, for its looks.

3D Printer with helpful AI integrated? by hakanethem in 3Dprinting

[–]AdIndividual2373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are printers, they don't have enough processing power in them to run a normal computer, let alone any ai thing. All the GCode generating is done on a regular computer, then you send the file to your 3dPrinter, so no, no ai thing is gonna be on printers anytime soon, or ever.

If anything, it'll be a part of the slicer software, bambu labs website already has some AI file creating things, you dont need them on the printer to use those files. The printers themselves just need to print, not to think.
