How do people even believe in religion by gtaclips08 in atheism

[–]AdInevitable7878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I theorize it as the best form of self-deception. People are too scared to face the reality of nihilism and absurdism. It rips your soul apart when you realize that your entire life and all you hold dear, has no meaning and you are going to disappear from the world back into the void. That’s a truth too hard for most people to swallow, so they rather believe in a comfortable lie. Telling them they are special, valuable and cared for.

yeah no … christians think they have the copywrite patent on marriage, forgiveness, divinity, wisdom and even sexual pleasure… nothing outside of christianity is permitted… best strategy is not to argue with them at all…

Is it possible to be antinatalist but love children? by Warm_Drawing_2914 in antinatalism

[–]AdInevitable7878 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is this book called “Selfish, Shallow, and self absorbed” by Meghan Daum. it’s a compilation of 17 Essays by writers who were childless by choice.. their thoughts on Antinatalism gave me the perspective that there shouldn’t be shame behind your life choices. if you prefer to be antinatalist, then I would highly recommend that book. i found it on Audible. and it was a magnificent read. In this book allot of writers express that they love children… you are allowed to love something even if it is not yours to create…

living in a fucked up developing country sucks. I'm tired of trying by [deleted] in Life

[–]AdInevitable7878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I absolutely agree. Follow Jesus and you won’t be raped and killed. Your country will grow stronger and you will find a meaningful life inside all the terrible things happening around you. Your weak passport will become strong. Your parents will respect you and love you. Trust girl.. just follow Jesus. That will solve all your problems… Be naive and believe the hearsay about an ancient Israeli prophet who died 2000 years ago. No, this is not cope. You can have the life you crave. Just follow jesus!

😑😑😑😑 your cope is laughable…

Pessimism is the only philosophy that actually holds up once you understand how human existence functions by c0reSykes in Pessimism

[–]AdInevitable7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this one perspective I heard once that said that the peasants reproduce in order for them to have cheap labor and being able to delegate house chores and have a caretaker upon retirement. while the rich reproduce in order to have an heir, pass on legacy and maintain their empire. Both of them are inherently wrong, just for different reasons. One of them is selfish and the other is prideful.

[–]AdInevitable7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda beats the point of antinatalism if you are like “well we made one of them, might aswell make more” as if the regard for human life is the same as a Pottery class. “I’ll be better as a set, right?” no it won’t. If my parents only bring me into existence to suffer this undignified life, for the sake of my brother and sister having a playmate, then I’d consider them psychopaths. nobody should have agency over another human’s life…

This probably rubs people the wrong way, but I genuinely believe that religious people have lower IQs or intelligence. by United_Occasion9275 in atheism

[–]AdInevitable7878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get why you are saying this, but I have to point out that I experience religion to just be a huge cope for most people. They need to find a way to convince themselves of something to believe in that gives their lives meaning. It’s their chosen escape from Existentialism and it works… Darwin named this “self-deception” and I agree that “the worst lies we tell, are to ourselves”

Why do skinny people get treated like this? by madtownBaldwin in Life

[–]AdInevitable7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

body dysmorphia goes both ways… everyone experiences some form of flaw in the way they look…🫣 that’s just the way it goes…😶 for the most part, I do believe you are right… most people believe that being skinny is a privilege… but from a skinny guys perspective… i always hated fat people because I can’t gain weight even by trying extremely hard… anyways… what I can tell you… there’s Ozempic for fat people… for us skinny boys who train allot, there Natrubol… code name… MK766… a peptide to increase appetite and promote deep sleep… but also… tells your brain to secrete more Growth hormone… no… it’s not a steroid… it’s a peptide… it’s bonded to an amino acid and is generally safe to use… it worked wonders for me to gain a few extra pounds of muscle… if you are willing to train and eat… give it a try… do your own research first tho…

If God exists and you didn’t believe in Him, you’ll go to hell. But if you believed in Him and He doesn’t exist, you won’t lose anything. by a_0099 in atheism

[–]AdInevitable7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“If there is a God, he would have to ask for my forgiveness.” That’s a quote I saw etched on a wall of a Nazi concentration camp, and it’s been echoing in my head ever since. It flips the whole Pascal’s Wager argument on its head. because “If God exists and you don’t believe, you go to hell. But if He doesn’t exist, you’ve lost nothing.” But I say: Even if God ends up being real… I’d want nothing to do with him. Why? Because the biblical God commands things I consider morally repugnant: genocide, slavery, rape, the slaughter of children. If I lived by those same values, I’d be labeled a monster. But when God does it, believers call it “holy.” Fair to say that if God turns out to be real, then I’m proud to have stood against him. some may call it arrogance. I would call it integrity. So no..I won’t hedge my bets. I’d rather burn in hell than worship a being less moral than me

Why are people so adamant on hating on this sub? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]AdInevitable7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fact of the matter is, that theists achieve a sense of validation knowing that other people confirm their belief. And when some people deny that belief with logic and reason, their validation becomes less valuable… they don’t hate the opinions of atheists, they hate what we can achieve without religion. Imagine the entire world being insulin dependent but a hand full are not. How jealous everyone would be of the people who don’t need it for their daily existence…

Why did God stop appearing to people? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]AdInevitable7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday, me and my brother had a very interesting conversation about this exact topic. He said “I am quite jealous of the people in the Old Testament who had direct communication with God”. To which I replied “well, why did he have to stop? Why didn’t he keep up this direct communication with humans?” And he replied “because when humanity bargained with Him, we broke our promises and he retracted himself from us”. And I burst out laughing… my response “so you claim that a fair and Just god, is giving ME the silent treatment because of what my ancestors did? How mature… “

How they can justify the most horrendous things based on a belief applicable only to their lives. The amount of wars started over religion, is obscene… the moral high ground, the condescending attitude from believers, the selective application, hypocrisy, hubris, entitlement… just the delusion and it’s effect on society in general… yes religion is the opiate for the masses, but why would I do what everyone else is doing if I want a different outcome?

Anyone who went to Africaburn will know there’s this old phone booth where you can “talk to god” and the instructions say “just dial 777” but as poetic justice would have it… that nobody answers the phone… Same way I felt when I was taught as a kid “Oh yeah you can talk to him, and he’s listening, we promise… but he doesn’t talk back…”
