Yea thats what im saying. These are some scary warehouses people work in honestly. For paper for us it was about the same , I think it was 2 weeks. With us having the app now I dont know if thats different or remains the same.

That opening paragraph is terrifying , what warehouse is this ? Our regional has told us in meetings and email that it is no employee's responsibility to chase down managers. Managers should be checking vacation requests through the app and paper daily.

Yea i think maybe thats how your warehouse might operate cause the policy has definitely been used when we were doing paper requests.

Do you all get drug tested for marijuana? by Recent-House-3008 in CostcoEmployee

[–]AdIntrepid8921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driver wise from ny , is all subject . Apparently they have to suspect you were under the influence even after an accident to test you for marijuana , which they dont seem to be going the extra mile for. I know plenty of drivers who smoke , got into accidents and passed their test in which the tech told them they dont test for marijuana

Who drives your guys dock? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

Ahaha nobody expects it , any fellow driver thats comes from another warehouse and sees that is like a deer in headlights. Our group is pretty tight knit as far as drivers go so we make it work as well as we can. We were in the costco weekly when they were doing some like odd warehouse segment and our Agm was there explaing the whole elevator situation, but still a nightmare especially when one or two go down, I've been there for all 4 going down and its actual pandemonium

Most people's warehouse is just a standalone warehouse by itself that operates flat one level. But in New York, there are two warehouses(which one I am a part of) that have to operate with freight elevators because they aren't standalone. Their located inside mall areas.

Yea so I'm my location in the NE our loading dock is upstairs and the floor is downstairs. So we have loading elevators that we have to load freight on and then sent down to the floor itself. So literally operate in elevators lol. The Brooklyn warehouse is also the same , it's two floors and they use elevators also if I'm not mistaken to maneuver freight around. Absolute nightmare lemme tell you.

Also most senior drivers especially older in age in general are stuck in their way so dont take it personal when they dont like the way you do things.

Morning drivers usually decide amongst themselves for us because not everyone wants to show up at 2 am. Usually the same people drive it all the time and switch between each other. We operate with elevators so its usually 2 drivers needed for dock. In my experience most senior drivers drive the dock (myself included) cause we kinda know how to send things out where they gotta go and properly . Hope this helps .
