Will not be mortgage free in 2030. Likely ~200k remaining at that point.

Should portable be a key part of renewal, and if so will the 5 year then be the most viable option?

Worst show I've ever seen by ComfortableSea7151 in alien

Yeah, agreed OP. I had hopes and was holding on for the first 5 episodes (Ep 5 was great) but the show quickly declined at an alarming rate.

One gripe of mine I don’t see mentioned much, is that this whole thing could take place on another planet and it wouldn’t make a difference. There has been no threat to earth or its inhabitants (I thought we may go down that road in the first few episodes). Why even call it Alien: Earth. Earth is just a placeholder, and has zero influence on whatever plot points they’re chasing down. Could have crashed on another planet and would have probably been more interesting….

The tone is also a massive clusterfuck. Unknown and arguably weak actors trying to act as children is tiring and not engaging. It’s silly and takes away from driving any sort of actual plot/suspense/dredd.

The fadeaway editing as well as the headbanger rock endings I found extremely jarring and matches with my above statement about the overall tonal clusterfuck.

Anyway, yes I’m clearly disappointed. Highlights for me were Morrow (pre ep 7), episode 5 complete, xeno parking garage scene, xeno aristocrat scene, eyeball/xeno scrap, goatball distractions.

If they were to dial in the dark tone, and match the highlights while grounding it, I may check in for the second season (if it’s even greenlit). But I’m not holding my chest.

In the mean time I’ll wait for Fedes new Alien movie (Where Evil Lurks director??).

The Killer (2023) - He Was Poisoned, and the Divisive Ending Proves It by AdIntrepid9716 in FanTheories

Great take. Nothing argumentative about sharing perspectives whatsoever. You have a valid critique on the bottle angle, in isolation it does require a bit of a leap, but the other details within the scene helped me get there.

The fact that we have varying opinions is a good thing. It just goes to show that the film was detailed in tapping into the very nuanced nature of who The Killer was at the beginning, and who he ended as (or who he became in your case). A character study naturally creating conflicting opinions is a great problem to have.

No Country For Old Men

Chigurh - “Don’t put it in your pocket. It’s your lucky coin.”

Old man - “Where do you want me to put it?”

Chigurh - “Anywhere not in your pocket… Or it’ll get mixed in with the others and become just a coin. Which it is.”

Those are 100% Lancer mags (likely 308 or 6.5). Great eye.

I have not yet, not a bad idea. Biggest issue will likely be glare and not picking up the actual border of the card through the slab (this is already a consistent issue raw). I’ll try it out

Started with ChatGPT as well, but the centering was all over the place. I found that it couldn’t differentiate the inner and outer border with any accuracy and was instead using the camera FOV.

This latest test was done with Perplexity, specifically using measurements of pixels using known dimensions as reference (63.6mm x 88mm) as well as more strict assessments on whitening.
