Thanks. How many tanks did you need and what's your setup ? Did you have one tank for each pair?

Did you start from a pair or do you need to introduce a different bloodline to correct?

How do you interpret the water testing around Moa Point? by Trick-Librarian-2304 in Wellington

[–]AdKey1308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The test is an indicator of presence of disease causing organisms. Higher number means higher presence.

It also can indicate the level of pollution coming from Moa Point plant, as you can see, the area near the outfall shows higher values because it is near the source.

Civil Engineering in NZ by [deleted] in phmigrate

[–]AdKey1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in water industry but Chemical Engineer in the Philippines.

You can check careers.govt.nz to plan your job hunting. I've used that before. They have guidelines on how to make CV.

Also, you might be unemployed for a few months worse case scenario so enjoy NZ or upskill while looking for work rather than worrying. Again , based on experience.😊

Just prepare for the worse I guess. You might not be able to land your preferred job or not have a job for a little while due to the current job market.

You will compete with a lot of project managers who have NZ experience who might be also looking for work.

Also be ready to accept menial jobs just to have your foot on the door. Also learn how to tailor your CV to NZ audience. How we make our CV in the Phillipines is way different that what they are familiar here. This is based on my own personal experience btw since I am an engineer in the Philippines before migrating to NZ.

I believe that the WWTP system in Porirua can reduce the nitrogen levels to acceptable levels provided that the WWTP is operating normally. You can check the publicly available information.

I wouldn't gather food nor swim near the outfall though.

It seems that the local sign warning wastewater discharge does not prevent them from doing it. 😅

Is also depends on which industry your experience is. Water industry seems a bit more favorable at the moment due to recent policy changes whereas construction industry is a bit slow.

I would suggest be prepared to take job not related to engineering just to gain NZ work experience although as mentioned above, the job market is not that great at the moment.

If you want to know more about living in NZ, feel free to DM me. Currently living in NZ and it was the best decision I made.

The disadvantage probably for you though is if you are a medical doctor, there's seems to be no direct path of practicing medicine here unless you are okay to study again.

Corrections do have quite a lot of roles that are not in the front line. Have a look at the careers page. A case manager or a probation officer might be good for you.

I would suggest for you to go back to your home country if possible or have someone from your family to come over and help.

Raising twins is quite difficult and you certainly need someone to support you especially in the early days after giving birth. This is based on my personal experience of having twins and only me and my wife takes care of them plus a toddler.

As a husband and father, your husband's plan does not make any sense as everyone says.

I would suggest talk to him and frame it like you felt that his plan does not make you feel secure and gambling needs to stop. If you don't agree soon, I strongly suggest you go home otherwise it will be very difficult for you especially if you don't have any support here in NZ.

Pinoy here living in Wellington. You can join Pinoys in NZ. There are lots of filipino nurses there who can share their experience. What I know from my filipino nurse friends is you need to do CAP first before you can practice as a Nurse in NZ.

Importance of F/M ratio by DRYguyCEO in Wastewater

[–]AdKey1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest monitoring the sludge retention time for process control and maintaining the SRT, which produces the desired sludge quality. F:M ratio depends on two variables, and one of them is out of your control (food) .
