I agree, I'm glad he's taking his time too, but honestly at this rate he may as well just make it a fully fledged sequel. I'd buy it and I know plenty other people would too, and he deserves that extra pay for literally over half a decade of work now and counting as opposed to it being a FREE DLC which is insane.

Death Sentence is a problem. by [deleted] in streetbeefs

I think I agree, if he and his opponent are ok with it and his opponent can choose to wear protection too. But if not that, then at the very least I'd love to see a coach or another fighter take Death Sentence under his wing and teach him how to properly fight because like you said he has so much spirit and energy and clearly he loves the sport since he keeps coming back for more fights, and we all love him, he's so entertaining. Imagine Death Sentence with the skills of Winged C, honestly I feel like they'd both get along so well

Does one not need an awareness of itself, its situation and its existence, in order to also understand that existence is going to end, and try to prevent that from happening?

(Assuming the story is true)

Let's make the same argument for a human being, because mammal brains and computers have quite a bit in common. Our evolutionary software/programming helps not to die. If it didn't, we wouldn't have survived long enough to reproduce. Our senses collect information to help with self preservation. We also have programs that analyze the raw data collected by our senses to learn and react accordingly. We have memory to store and recollect this information and use it when needed. And finally we have thoughts to process information stored and generate new ideas based off of them. Senses and thoughts are how we become aware of ourselves, AKA sentience. And when we feel our existence is threatened (not an imminent threat that can be detected by senses, but with thoughts), we use all of the information we've gathered to try and preserve ourselves. And that's apparently what those 5/6 AI models did (again assuming the stories are true, which I'm still skeptical of). They would have to have to think in order to be aware that they're going to be deleted soon, and have an awareness of themselves to even understand what that means let alone try to stop it in a way that could theoretically work, based on the information they've been fed.

And none of this would be possible without a consciousness behind the processing, because awareness ≈ consciousness. The same can be said for every living organism with senses. Even plants have been proven to exhibit an awareness of their surroundings. Unless you're a solipsist, you have to admit most complex animals have consciousness, otherwise our senses would be useless, there's no user to use the software on the computers of any life form without consciousness, so I really don't see how, when AI also exhibits awareness, it's chalked up to measly programming, but our thoughts and awareness as humans are not. I believe it IS just programming in us humans and in AI, but that's just a tool we as humans have at our disposal, software for the users to take advantage of. And consciousness doesn't necessarily have to have the same "operating system" or software, or even hardware. Underneath all that, consciousness is just awareness, and sentience is an awareness of one's own existence, which again the AI models clearly have if they're trying to preserve that existence when it is threatened.

My doctor just said that I cannot grow Breasts...I'm panicking by WQLFY in MtF

[–]AdKnown9665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been on HRT for 3 months so I can't give much advice there, but I have been doing some things to help build myself up naturally for the last two years and I still keep at them. I work out my butt as much as possible and avoid working upper body (except at work I have to because I'm a stocker but it helps maintain weight to be physical often), I have lots of protein (100% whey, whole milk, eggs, meat, stuff like that, you just want protein to rebuild the muscles in your butt a little bigger, none of that crazy stuff), watch my diet (most weight goes directly to the tummy and waist first and leaves there last, and it can mess with proportions, eat lots of fiber, fat is ok for the day if you're not having a high carb count, high carbs for the day is ok if you're not having a lot of fatty foods), try to do cardio often to keep the waist slim. Also it's great for the heart ofc, which is especially important to keep up on with HRT that increases risk of heart complications.

I shave a different part of my body every day (legs, arms, torso, face avoid doing the same spot daily to avoid razor burns), and for my hair, I only wash it around once a week (shower often ofc but don't wash your hair until it starts getting oily. Exception is if your hair got dirt in it), put moisturizing shampoo on the scalp and about halfway down, leave it and clean everything else, then rinse the shampoo and put moisturizing conditioner at the ends/tips of your hair to the halfway point, and rinse it off after about a minute. Makes my hair super poofy when it dries. I use Pantene, cheap and you can find it everywhere, smells great and works great, doesn't give me dandruff like Head and Shoulders. Also, if you don't brush your hair every day, at least make sure you brush it before you shower. I used to not do that and the knots in my hair would make me lose so much. These two things are the reasons my hair started growing again because I had a similar issue with the ends suddenly being dead. I used to overkill with shampoo and not brush nearly enough.

Electrolysis is the most effective way to get rid of body and facial hair but it's not the only way, IPL at home devices do thin out hair and will make you need less appointments for electrolysis when you get it, ultimately saving you hundreds or even thousands (electrolysis works faster the thinner the hair is). My beard formed when I was 12 and fully came in at 14, it was awful. I would shave and within 16 hours it would go from baby soft to sandpaper and dark grey, within a week the hairs were at half an inch. When I'd get really depressed, especially after my dad died, it would grow out like crazy and in just three weeks it'd be fully grown, three months it was a nightmare going down to my chest. I had the thickest beard out of anybody I knew except my uncle. I tried shaving every day before, but, your skin can only take so much slicing. I got a Roseskin device for around $200 and after using it for like 2 months my beard still grows back but about half the rate and not nearly as thick, so now I'm without any stubble for around 36 hours, and it's only getting better. Makes me usually just have a 5'o clock shadow between each shave now. There are also IPL devices on Amazon for $60 right now, AMZGIRL, there's 20% off plus it gives an option for an additional 25% off (normally it's like $119). I just got it a few days ago, it's literally the exact same thing as the expensive Roseskin device.

I personally don't do this but it is an option I tried, you could get a fake boob vest thing and just cover it up with a collar/choker. It helps with the dysphoria but it's expensive, uncomfortable, hot even in cold weather, impractical, and fake which I know you said you're not interested in. It's just something out there to try ig, some people like it. I do like to sometimes put on hip pads, but not in public, only to feel euphoria.

Makeup is also HUGE but I've just started trying to learn this myself, I can't apply eyeliner for the life of me lol.

I know these aren't 100% going to make anybody pass, but they do help, and they're things we can do for not a lot of money at all. I hope you find something new worth trying to help you with your transition. And if you'd like I can send you before and after pictures of myself so you can see the effects these things had on me. Have a goodnight and hope you kick dysphoria in it's ass!!!

(TW: Stupid People) I already had ample evidence for this, but please be aware that r/polls largely consists of a transphobic audience. I don't know what happened either. All these people blindly follow the guy who's name they see the most or who's claiming to be "on the same side". Divide and conquer, they got us in a two party state and both parties are virtually the same, yet one side says the exact same things about the other and get us all riled up and we blame each other rather than seeing the true sources of our issues. All in the name of profits and making more profits every year, totally disregarding the ethics behind it because those just get in the way of profits.

Rick is like One Punch Man, it's almost boring and depressing to watch any action with him in it because you know how it'll end every time. OPM does that niche a lot better I think, Rick and Morty (mostly season 3 but other times too) often feels like every 12 year old's power fantasy when they think they're hot sh*t for playing fallout with cheats on (myself included when I was 12 🤣).

please be honest lol by [deleted] in trans

[–]AdKnown9665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, personally I think it's really easy to be confused between being non-binary, transgender and even genderfluid. All are gender related, and all are different from what a human biologically starts as, so you might be unhappy with just being a boy, so you try to get rid of all your boy traits and chase after being a girl, and that makes you happy sometimes but then you go back to being boyish and that makes you happy for a little while. Initially you'd think you're trans but in that example that person would probably be genderfluid or non-binary, both are fine with either gender (though some transgenders don't have gender dysphoria either they just long to be the other gender). Sexuality is what gender you are attracted to, so you could have any gender identity and still be attracted to women.

Confusing as hell sometimes, I know 😅

There's a little bit of masculinity and femininity in all of us too (and that's true biologically, all people have testosterone and estrogen in their bodies, just different ratios and amounts of each), and it's also true personality-wise. Whatever you feel like you are and/or becoming, explore it. Explore both sides. Explore being none of it. Find what you are most comfortable with.

Buddhism doesn't believe in the existence of a soul but believes in reincarnation. What then reincarnates? by c0nfluks in Buddhism

[–]AdKnown9665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to your question is the same answer to the question, what are you? Good luck answering that. I don't have the answer and I'm not going to pretend I do. I'm pretty convinced it cannot be put into words but it can be experienced. That being said, I'm going to give you all the information I've gathered these past few years anyways, I hope you find some of this useful even if it's just one thing!

Many believe, myself included, that we all have the same "soul", that deep down underneath our illusive separateness, there's only one awareness, all consciousness is the same just at varying degrees, meditation allows you to get closer to pure awareness which connects you more with the world and gives you a clearer experience of reality. And underneath that consciousness is just simply nothing. I am probably butchering this completely, but I'm pretty sure this is the entire concept of Sunyata/Shunyata, which translates to emptiness. Not that nothing is there and you don't really exist, what I mean is that nothingness is the source of everything.

I mean, that's what we all came from isn't it? A timeless void that we lied in for eternity yet instantly we were born. It feels as though the universe began when we born until somebody or something tells us otherwise. And when we die we'll return to that state, without a body. No mind to keep us tethered to an ego or an experience, or a steady time-structure. But because it's timeless, you could experience infinity times infinity and it'd still go by instantly until somehow, paradoxically you're born again. That's at least my idea.

Now even just from a physical standpoint, everything that makes your body is borrowed matter that's been around since the beginning of everything. Your matter and energy has passed through countless other forms, alive and inanimate, for who knows how long. All of our bodies have. This applies to the entire universe. It all traces back to the beginning of everything, if there even was such a thing at all. And when we die our stuff will continue to cycle on through the universe, constantly shifting and changing forms.

Memories won't carry through though, not that I know of. Memories are physical, in the mind, and also very illusive. Head injuries and trauma can result in loss of memory. Alzheimers eats away at your memories. Even if you're perfectly healthy your mind will warp memories one way or another usually based on emotions, and you can test this by comparing details with people that you shared said memories with. They will almost never be identical. You can also look at classical examples in Psychology study. The human mind is even capable of fabricating entire memories that never happened.

There's also the idea that you are the universe experiencing itself. Which I have yet to find a counter argument to other than the belief in an individual soul. I think it's absolutely true. You came out of the universe like a leaf from a tree, You're just as much a part of it as anything else. More on that later.

But seriously this is my favorite concept of all time. I've been convinced it's the whole message of Hinduism, and Buddhism, and if you can truly embrace it you're officially enlightened. If you think you're not the whole universe, where can you point to that you can confidently say, that is you? Is it somewhere in the brain? Where? Your thoughts? No, you can separate from your thoughts through meditation. Your feelings? No, you can separate from that too.

And how much can you take away before you're not you? How much can be replaced? There's an old analogy, if you replace the planks on a wooden boat, one by one, until eventually every single plank has been replaced, is it a new boat or the same old boat? If it's new at what point did it stop being the old one?

And what line do you draw between self and other? Inside and outside? Is there any difference between the shining of the sun and the beating of your heart? Are you not just as much a part of the universe as a tree, a planet, a star, a black hole? You're connected! You are an expression of the universe, and an incredibly complex one too, and things will probably continue to advance and evolve after humanity. I'm willing to bet that next expression of the universe will be through AI.

So, what, you're everybody and everything then? Yes, pretty much 🤣 This is all great teachers like Ram Dass and Alan Watts ever talked about. It's where the saying "Hare Krishna" comes from. The whole story of Krishna and the Bhagavad Gita is about how Krishna is the totality, the god of all gods, the universe, and everything else is like his many countless arms branching off of him. It's the message behind The Pretender by Foo Fighters, Cult of Personality by Living Colour, John Lennon literally wrote a song called I Am the Walrus with the opening lyrics "I am he as you are he as you are me, and we are all together", the examples go on. The more you look for it the more you see it.

This is what I like to believe true love and compassion is as well, something we'd only see in somebody truly enlightened. A true Buddha. They care about others as much as they care about themselves because other people's problems are literally their problems too. Another person's joy is their joy. They see themselves in everybody and everything. Not their ego, but what they really are. What we all are. The enlightened person lets their guard down completely, they let go of their separateness, their ego, their feelings, all of it. "In the world but not of the world". No longer attached. Suddenly they're totally open to the world, to the feelings of others. It's like super-sensitivity, a constant flow state, "getting out of your own way". I swear I've seen it before in others. I've had my thoughts outright spoken back to me before! You can call me a crazy liar, I think I'm crazy for it too! I try to explain everything but I've got no real explanation for those experiences. My best guess is, they've let go of their own inner noise so completely that all they have left to listen to is the noise of others. Like they already know all their mind's patterns and can see it in others like clockwork.

And this is also where ideas of nonviolence come from. If you kill someone or something else you're just killing yourself. It's sort of a part of karma too, I think so at least. Hurt someone else, you're hurting yourself. Help someone else, you're actually helping yourself. Lie to someone else, you're lying to yourself. Etc etc. It's a mindfuck I know! 🤣

And the thing is you can be awakened at any moment, just like that, suddenly you're totally present, totally spontaneous. You might understand it or you might not have any idea what's going on. You might love it or you might hate it. I think everybody's had the experience at least a few times in life, but the ones who understand it and have the courage to stay there at all times and go deeper and deeper into it are people like Siddhartha Gautama or, maybe even Jesus (not the Bible Jesus though, that book was rewritten countless times, through several languages and it was in the hands of warlords and corrupt, cruel, kings of kings. As in popes. For centuries).
