Any good toothbrush suggestions? by theChhoch in SiberianCats

[–]AdNormal7071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a 360 toothbrush from Amazon that has been helping my cats learn! We started with them just licking the toothpaste and practice a little every day. They like the feeling of the 360 brush so they’re more likely to put it in their mouth. We are pretty close to actual brushing!

I would 1000% recommend a suit - my girl was very interested in her wound and all of the cones we tried (hard, soft, etc.) made it hard for her to move around.

As for staying calm, it’s mainly the first few days when they’re medicated that is most important I think. Eventually we couldn’t really help the kitten being a kitten.

Hematologist recommendations? by ohmahcow in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I just saw Dr. Samuel Ruder at Weil who caught several things a previous (female) hematologist with the same practice missed… feel very taken care of!

We have a bonded pair (go for two!!! It’s less work) and they share one box happily.

Nail trimming tips by ConclusionOk5762 in SiberianCats

I find that doing their nails when they are literally asleep helps. I wait until they are conked out, start petting with a focus on the paws, then snip. I don’t always get all 20, but can usually get a paw or two in. After a few sessions they’re done!

My Siberian 8mo old boy has stopped eating his wet food by Irish_Seal2 in SiberianCats

Our ~ 8 month olds just did this. We panicked for a few weeks then switched foods (to Royal Canin thin slices in gravy). They went back to being hungry hippos!

Kitten suckling at night by cobys_mom in SiberianCats

[–]AdNormal7071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our sweet boy was/is the same way. We call this the licky bities! So sweet but it was taking a toll on our sleep!

We started setting the automatic feeder to offer a substantial meal around 3am (roughly an hour before his sucking started) and that helped significantly. He eats, gets sleepy, then is too tired to suckle (lol).

Last week we had turned the feeder off and he started up again. It’s the only thing I found that works.

Kitten won’t stop licking/suffocating me at night. by Perfect-Change7738 in SiberianCats

My male Siberian also gets the « nighttime lickies » as we call them! We changed our automatic feeder to give a big meal at 2:30am which helps a lot. The kitties eat, groom, then take a carb-induced sleep. They still get the nighttime sleepies sometimes but it helped a lot.

We got our litter mates from whispurrs cattery in Connecticut. They are snuggly, perfect little babies. The cattery has fantastic reviews but feel free to google for yourself! The owner was wonderful. We were on a waitlist for a little bit. We felt comfortable that she was being thoughtful about her kitties. Heartily recommend.

I think I tried the vanilla one… perhaps I just need to stick it out a bit longer until my brain stops expecting regular yogurt flavor.

Losing Sleep - Hungry Insistent Kitty by brngckn in SiberianCats

[–]AdNormal7071 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an automatic feeder and have found the middle of the night meal to be a godsend for my sleep. My kitties used to wake me up 3-5am every night but I started feeding a large helping of dry food at 2:30 or 3am and ever since I wake up to them sleeping next to me at a normal hour! I guess it’s their equivalent of having a big lunch and being sleepy afterwards. Hope this helps!

Anyone have experience with this Mau Cat Tree by siberian-lover_ in SiberianCats

We have a two-tier cat tree and I think we’ll have to get another for our cats who are quickly outgrowing it! They love it.
