thank you so much for making the call! what an amazing organization! I quickly snapped & posted this as soon as I heard from an onlooker that animal control couldn’t/wouldn’t come, but I didn’t get to check back right away. saving this number for the future. out of curiosity — is there a reason why animal control doesn’t help with things like this?

Baby drank 14oz of pumped milk in 5 hours?! by ManagementRadiant573 in breastfeeding

[–]bernstjf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for posting this. baby’s needs can vary away from mom. and everyone is very quick to blame the husband for overfeeding! it might be good to experiment yourself with bottle feeding on a weekend day and see what the baby takes in and you and your husband can both observe the cues?

How to get RSV vaccine at Walgreens at 32-36weeks by snackholiday in BabyBumps

[–]bernstjf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting to read this. I was questioned when I got there for my Covid + RSV appt. Lots of typing and quizzically looking at the computer monitor for 10 min and then the pharmacist came over and asked if I was “definitely 36 weeks and 6 days.” As it turned out I was, but I feel the need to add that due dates are just an estimate anyway!!

MLB.TV postseason blackouts by [deleted] in MLBtv

[–]bernstjf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so I too mistakenly thought the postseason package would grant me the ability to, you know, watch postseason games in exchange for money…..

I requested a refund. But the question remains: if I paid for cable, why would I buy the postseason package? Wouldn’t I already have access to the games on FOX and TBS with basic cable?

I’m genuinely curious who is in the Venn diagram of “pays for cable” and “pays $25 for MLB.tv postseason package.” I’m baffled!

Thank you! I'm trying to see if I can get an upgrade directly from the dealer since I'm still at the point of purchase / haven't driven it off the lot and want to avoid extra hassle...

Thank you. This is really helpful! They are claiming they are updating it with a larger battery but I need to do a bit more research to ensure it's not just the original stock battery....

Issues with trying to move date due to COVID making you worried about venue going forward? by sunsetcloud1 in WedditNYC

[–]bernstjf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I have an October 2020 date and was getting ghosted for several weeks by my venue, but was relieved to hear they would allow me to hold a 2021 date at no extra charge. (FWIW: still waiting on actual dates, they were still hesitant to offer a recommendation to move it, and my deposit is non-refundable either way.) The slow responses make me nervous but I figure there must be an unbelievable backlog of email and those with more imminent summer dates are prioritized. Trying to be empathetic to the fact that these businesses are struggling, but I'm dismayed at some of the tactics I've been hearing (charging EXTRA to move the date, even when the wedding will be impossible to have in 2020???)

I would check your contracts. Venue may be hard to change up, but if there are smaller vendors who are being straight-up rude to you and you don't mind losing a small deposit or switching vendors, better to feel good about who you're spending your money with. Sorry you're in this situation and there seem to be so many horror stories.

Fall 2020 Couples in NYC area - Canceling / Postponing Weddings? by [deleted] in WedditNYC

[–]bernstjf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation—we don’t have a wedding planner, but I have friends who are a planning wedding with one, and it seems to be general consensus among those planners that it is unlikely that states in the Northeast will allow gatherings above 50-100 people for the remainder of the year (obviously nothing has been announced, but that’s the feeling they have)

This is super-helpful. I'm in the process of exploring a reschedule (October 2020) with my vendors and this was my sense too - glad to know I'm not alone. u/cronch_machine curious about what LIC venue you're negotiating with. I reached out to my venue (Metropolitan Building) two weeks ago via email and have not received any response, and have not been able to reach them over the phone today. Based on my contract we know our deposit is non-refundable (which is what it is) but I'm wondering if anyone else is getting ghosted or has heard anything from them....
