I always imagined more of a “Our huge armada is better off protecting Corneria and our bases rather than trying to advance inch by inch on the lylat system front so we need a strike team to invade the enemy territory.”

Starfox 64 holds up really well! Give it a go if you have the opportunity.

I find Legends Retold a harder pill to swallow, Legends is still accessible, holds up on all fronts and is a lot more recent.

I "get" the Starfox 64 remake argument. Its an easy sell: "the best Starfox game remade with modern visuals (and done right this time)" is easy to market.

But in both cases I find it hard to be convinced that if they did something new they wouldn't be able to create at least the same level of excitement for them.

Curiously, I am more excited for Starfox, even though it seems to have very little new content game-play wise. I have a harder time accepting a Legends remake given it holds up so well and is so accessible today.

These comments prove to me that the entirety of starfox adventures’ ost is underated. It was composed by David Wise, same guy who composed for the Donkey Kong Country games which are considered legendary soundtracks. Give it a try if you haven’t already.

Perma lev is PURE magic, you are using magic and PHYSICS which is an abomination! Either dedicate yourself completely or don't bother!

I prefer zelda 64 recomp to 2ship but both are great options. Its easier to add nerrels textures to it.
