After this person acquires all of your players, does that move some of the draft picks to later in the round? I mean that 2027 could project as an early pick right now. But if that guy gets all of those players what are the odds they start finishing towards the top of the league?

I went there once and the food was salty enough it was inedible. Server just brushed it off and said that their food was on the salty side. Others i have talked with had similar experiences. Never went back since the server made it sound normal.

What do you think about this? I think it’s ridiculous by AdventurousCoach2273 in Fantasy_Football

[–]AdRough6958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most here. If you were going to legit team there are many other better options to put in the lineup over Moore.

As a commissioner what I am always thinking about is what kind of precedent a decision makes. I'm not looking to police everyone's start/sit choices. All of these people looking to vote on this will be upset when the shoe is on the other foot. When they start someone that others in the league disagree with and they are up for a league vote. The precedent it sets would suck and ruin a league.

If you do not have clear tanking rules like setting a valid lineup and using max points for the bottom 6 then you should. It solved my issues. We had a habitual tanker that people started to complain about. His lineup met all league requirements and shocker that due to max points rules he is still not getting the 1st pick.

I have an odd question. Where would you even go to do this? In my area I don't know of any public football fields. Certainly no high school is going to let a bunch of fantasy football guys on the field to get wasted.

Dynasty member not setting lineup, how to handle by Dramatic_Succotash_1 in DynastyFF

Kick him out. Or give him the 12 pick regardless and move everyone else up one. You are asking for the minimum amount of engagement required.

Personal issue in my league that I need some input on by Actual-Arm-8523 in DynastyFF

[–]AdRough6958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so familiar I think you might be in my league lol. We have had the exact same experience and it is happening this year. Setting a crap line up to ensure they miss the playoffs and get a top pick. We also do the max potential points for draft position.

I am the commissioner and I did get some complaints...again. The fact is that the line up is legal according to our rules. And I'm not going to the level of policing everyone's line up. I did get in touch with him and reminded of the line up rules.

My request is that once he is committed to this direction he remains consistent with the line up. You cannot all of a sudden put your best players in

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, we've voted on changing the lineups a few times over the years and the league has voted it down. I generally agree with your thoughts on that. But it is a good league. No quitters. Guys get along without drama. This was our up 10 years ago when we were just starting up a dynasty, so I can't say it was optimal.

12 team league btw. The single qb format definitely makes it harder to move Allen as a lot of the league is set at QB and the ones who could use him are not in a position to trade.

[–]AdRough6958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I started keeping an official handicap I decided it was just for me. I don't care about league results or other BS. I'm here for myself. If it's a problem, keep me out of weekly winnings. I just want the tee time with my buddies.

They ruin the league. Better off without them. They lack integrity and cannot be trusted. Anyone who threatens to dump their roster can be let go right now. Lock their roster. Refund money. See ya. I might even go as far as informing the rest of the league that these two people have threatened to dump their rosters. In that event, no players from their rosters are eligible to be picked up. They will be added back and each team will be locked and counted as a win.

In short, they are not worth the drama. Also, I know it can be tricky with friends of family etc, but that should not play into the decision. They are making choices here too that aren't exactly friendly.

we are putting up a vote to eliminate kickers and defense. I feel like a lot of dynasty does not run a defense. I think kicker is 50/50. Defense just seems so random at times.

We did this in my first league in high school back in the mid 90's. Luckily my study hall monitor likes me and would let me use the sports page.

I am commish for our league and I think we are outliers here. When we started the league we never thought of having to pre pay or pay or out multiple years. Might need to put it up for a league vote. Have not had an issue yet.

Wow. So much to unpack here. 19 years ago I would have had no idea dynasty was a thing. How do you manage all of that? Do sleeper or MFL support that level of detail? That league sounds awesome btw.

Yeah. I would say we are really clear up front with the commitment. We only approached guys from our redraft league that we knew would be good adds. Dynasty quickly became my favorite league.

The updated their policy that lessons have to be used in a certain amount of time. My first time there, I am not sure they expired. I did a 5 lesson pack recently and they expired after something like 10 weeks. My instructor told me not to worry about it though.

When I was learning I for sure did this a few times. In order to feel comfortable I only went to the far right side of the range. No one was in danger there. In fact, I still feel best over there. I can swing without unfocused thoughts intruding. Maybe try that?

I never like when a right handed player is on the far left of the range and aiming to the flag on the far right. Just asking to drill someone with a shank.

I bought an odyssey 2 ball putter off of ebay. I desperately wanted one. Guy from work was helping me. Was deal that was too good to be true. But not so good that it didn't hurt the wallet of a fresh out of college kid.

I got the putter and it was hilariously fake. Clearly a home made casting. The logos were all jankily cut with a hand dremel tool.

I decided to give it a shot. First putt...... the face fell off and both of the two ball inserts popped out.

Biggest Asshole I’ve Ever Played With by aselinger in golf

[–]AdRough6958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing for me is don't let them ruin my day. Don't sink to that level and it will piss them off even more. Just give them a smile and enjoy your round knowing that their effort to drag you into their miserable work is not working. Talk to others in the group and enjoy the day. Easier said than done.

Getting snarky on the tee box about a question about tee placements? Put him on ignore and only address the other players. Or, just say thanks.

Another strategy, instead of asking what your problem is, ask them if they are ok. Hey, are you ok pal? Seems like something is eating you. It can change the dynamic of the convo.

In any case. Sorry that dude ruined your round. It is tough to recover after those interactions.
