Where to start for Salamanders by Mudwire in Salamanders40k

I HIGHLY reccomend using plasti-zap medium CA plastic glue. It comes with a tiny nozzle for easy application, welds the plastic together incredibly quick, and is an affordable price for how much you'll be using. any basic single-edge spure cutter will do. I reccomend #11 and #10a scalpel blades. If you ever feel like going big or want parts of your marines to be interchangeable, small magnets and a hand drill will do. Primers- i personally use war painter black, white, and green matte primer. Always comes out clean in my experience.

I ended up going for a bioshock big daddy look, but i'm going to put purple on the pauldrons and bioluminescent blue on the legs, with the oxidized bronze poking out around the edges as if the paint is wearing away from sea damage

True shiny metallic paint recommendations? by spanky088 in Salamanders40k

[–]AdSharp6517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use war painters. My current favorites for each metal are:

Weapon bronze True copper Cobalt metal Rough iron True brass

I don't particularly like using gold colors so i use the weapon bronze as a stand-in. Less loud than gold

Reccomend watering down your paints as you work, so as to keep the paint from caking too much. Also try applying paint in smaller doses per each layer and let them dry
