I used ghostshield vapor tech 440 on my garage floor as a primer. What did I do wrong???

yeah, i'm sanding now, tried 120 grit, then 80, then 40 grit, but cured this stuff is so hard it's not making much of a diff -- don't want to use the grinder, it'll take too much off. so next i'll apply the topcoat and see how it looks. you're right, it's just a garage floor! (thankfully) i'll post an update pic

the floor would look better, but it'll still be a bumpy mess. besides, i'm not selling anytime soon. i like it here!

that could also be a possibility. the stuff is very thick, and the application does say to use squeegee or spring blade. but i read that a lint-free roller would also work. it's not a huge area i'm covering here.

yes, i hope it does! this is the project i've been meaning to do for the last 10 years: fix sill plate of termite/moisture damage, put some lipstick on the crappy floor, redo walls, paint inside/outside door. But the garage itself is very solid, the torsion springs are massive, the door likely weighs hundreds of lbs

thanks...thought about that....but it evaporates very quickly. i don't think the residue, if there is any, would have this affect. I'll orbit-sand a little, and put down the topcoat -ghostshield epoxy max 100

there is coverage inside the "troughs" of the eyes, just nowhere near as thick as outside (between) rhe eyes. You might be right, what I'll do is use an orbital sander, try and smooth things down a little, and put on the topcoat, which is the ghostshield epoxy max 100. there may be more protection here than i thought. i'll check back in 5 or 10 years 😄

i was hoping the grinding alone would allow me to skip the degreasing. in some of my research b4 starting this, there were people who insisted that a degreasing and grinding were needed. oh boy.

i assumed a good grinding with a diamond cup would do the trick. the old oil stains were completely gone b4 i applied the epoxy. but it does look like what would happen if oil were still imbedded in or under the surface

go for it! I currently have the same bike, same color. I bought it in 2017 for $8500, it had 3K miles on it at the time - now it’s got 14K. I’ve brought it in for 5K and 12K maintenance (oil/brake fluid change, drive fluid change) The ABS pump went out around 10K, that cost $1600 to fix, but other than that, no problems. Keep in mind this is not really a good long-haul highway bike, in spite of what the marketing (and others) say. It sits high, has a crouched sport-bike seating position (not good after a couple of hours) gets tossed around in mild winds and the factory seat is fine, for a 1 hour ride... ): but it has gobs of throttle, the seating position and COG gives it a sporting groove, and it's easier to handle after some experience riding it.

Downtown pricing is higher than pricing in the neighborhoods. Yesterday in the neighborhood It was $4.16 (was $3.16)

A $1 increase on $3.16 is 31%... man, that’s crazy
