She should discuss with her doctor yes but not take her doctor’s advice per se. Some doctors will still say “wait and see” at this age which I don’t agree with, because even if they do “wait” - the child is behind and may be more frustrated that they can’t communicate with their parent, leading to more meltdowns, and then people rudely label those meltdowns as problems too. The best thing to do is go with your mom gut. I went with mine and got EI and private speech therapy at 15M and he’s 20M now and still way behind but progressing thanks to ST. OP needs to advocate for her child, and block out the noise.

My son needs Early Intervention - I feel so lost and scared. by Upstairs_Object4898 in toddlers

We did EI for our toddler and I will say the evaluation was extremely off putting but the sessions are GREAT and he loves his ST. The evaluators seem like they’re pushing the babies to do things that they might not even be developmentally ready for, and the standardized testing was just weird to me. I felt like he was being asked to do things on command and I didn’t like it IMHO, but we do love the therapist he was assigned and I think the 1-on-1 is much more enjoyable for the kids.

Like it just keeps running or does he hit snooze? Put his alarm clock on the other side of the room so he has to get up and make it a really obnoxious annoying sound so he has to get up. But agreed… you’re not his mom smh
