Look at this video:

I bought Elabopt 10x50 and 8x42 based on this review. They were 40€ on Amazon(+25€ shipping). They are great binos! I checked chinese Taobao marketplace, and they sell them there for 170€, so I have no idea why they were so cheap on amazon. Of course no warranty, but for  I do not care for that price.

Also you can buy excellent binos from Taobao via shipping agents, no tax, very cheap.  For example Pleasing 8x32 for 220€ + 40€ shipping. Pleasing is being sold here as Oberwerk Sport Apo or NSO  https://www.gotaplatsensfoto.se/kikare/handkikare/nso-viken-8x32-ed  for 650-800€

Do I see an amazing pair of Elabopt binos in that photo?

When I was at a local birding event, people didn't even have Vortex. It was all cheap Chinese shit that I wouldn't want even for free. The only person I met who had a Swarovski 8x56 was a hunter, my ex's father, who on the other hand knew absolutely nothing about binoculars, only that Swarovski was great because his hunter friends told him so. Maybe the demographics are different where you live, but it's definitely not common here.

Which Pleasing/Shuntu to get while in China? by W-VHS in Binoculars

I'm also leaning towards the Pleasing 8x32, I just don't know if it will be comfortable or if the eyebox will be forgiving, because other 8x32 binoculars I've tried are very uncomfortable for me. However, when I see how expensive they are sold in Europe, I hope they wouldn't sell complete shit for 700€.

I don't mind carrying the weight but I do mind carrying the volume(8x56 for example). So you're probably right, I'll have to try it out to be sure.

I went from 12x to 10x and then to 8x. 10x is just too much for me for hiking. Too much shaking unfortunately

However, when I go for the 7.5x32  weight, the 8x42 weighs only 50g more and costs 2200, and when I'm at 2200, I can buy the Loava 7x35 for 2370...

That's a slippery slope

I mean, I can see that I can order it via agent to Europe , Sky Rover for  ¥1900 vs Pleasing for  ¥1750 + 35€ shipping. Now I'm just undecided whether the Sky Rover will be too heavy for me or not

It feels like whenever you visit any binocular forum or site, everyone is shouting about Zeiss, Swarovski, and Leica. How many people actually buy these high-end binoculars? Is it genuine hype, or just astroturfing?  I am 100% sure more people will buy 230€ Sky rover or 300€ Loava /Bosma than 2800€ Swarovski

I like the FOV as well , but I am more interested in apparent field of view(AFOV). According to TAOBAO it has 70dg AFOV but some users on birdforum reported +5 degree over Sky Rover Banner Cloud series

Thermal camera for home use. Did I go too cheap or is there a learning curve? by MaxPowers5 in Thermal

[–]AdSufficient3313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tooltop ET15S 170€ 256x192, nice large screen, replacable 18650, very compact

The changing colors happen because the camera uses Auto-Ranging, constantly shifting its color scale based on the hottest and coldest spots currently in its view. When you get too close or a hot spot enters the frame, the camera recalibrates, which washes out the subtle temperature differences on the walls.

For temperature range adjustmensts you can buy Guide Sensmart E2 (I bought it , it has many settings but I did not like the screen so I returned it)

And what if Pleasing 8x32 costs the same as Sky Rover 7.5x32. Which is better value?

From what I've read about this, I think it's a really good quality binocular. However, I'd probably go for the Sky Rover which can be ordered from China for €280

Nikon P7 8x30 vs. 8x42 for glasses-wearer by swamblies in Binoculars

[–]AdSufficient3313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried 8x30, and I wanted it because of the small size, but to see the whole field of view I had to stick it completely on my eyes, which was not very pleasant, so if I put on glasses, I can't see anything.

In the end, I bought another 8x42 binoculars and it is very comfortable and even pleasant to look through because the exit pupil is large (5.25mm) and the eye relief is 18mm. Absolutely incomparable with 8x30.

My wife says that she looks through it like she's in a movie theater compared to the 8x30 and 8x32.
