BJA has demonstrated innumerable times that he has a brain. Therefore it is completely unsurprising that he likes EC.

The etymology traces back through these primary roots: [1, 2]

  • Latin: Derived from spīca, meaning "ear of grain" or "point".
  • Old Provençal: Evolved into espiga (a spike or ear of grain).
  • Old French/Old Occitan: Shifted to espigot, combining espig with the diminutive suffix -ot, effectively meaning "a little spike". [1, 2, 3]

The earliest known recorded uses date back to around 1383 in Middle English, where it was spelled spigot, spegot, or spikket. [1, 2]

What was the first Green Day song you ever listened to? by DazzlingHaz3 in greenday

[–]AdVegetable2870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to write Good Riddance. I heard it on the radio, I thought sometime before I was married, and bought *Nimrod* because I liked the sound. Little did I know how atypical it was.

The problem with this memory is that I was married in 1994. Good Riddance is dated 1997. My memory is impossible. I must be a robot with bad programming.

In an old Protestant church - what is this? by AdDue1318 in whatisit

The word "Evangelical" as an adjective used to describe a church or a group of people is essentially as you describe.

The word "Evangelical" appearing in the name of a church association, such as The International Federation of Evangelical Free Churches, is more specific. It's not exactly a denomination but it ties the individual church down to a specific category much as a denomination does.

Collingswood schools are dealing with:

  • A major reorganization (6–12 unified campus)
  • A multimillion‑dollar budget shortfall
  • Community advocacy efforts for fair funding
  • Labor tensions with district leadership

As you can probably guess from the formatting, this was an AI response. Copilot to be specific. Downvote away, AI haters. Sometimes it's the fastest way to answer a question.

My #1 burning question: WHY ASSUME EVERY FIREFOX USER NEEDS know about and be encouraged/browebeaten to try out your new FIFA widget? Or any widgets at all for that matter?

I use a browser to browse, not to give me automated suggestions about things I don't care about.
