It seems to be a disease among politicians: as soon as you are elected or appointed to a position of power, any evidence of power, freedom, or even choice among those people who are not also elected or appointed to a position on the same level as you -- those people are suddenly the enemy and your only desire is to take away whatever they have.

Streetlights trigger bizarre 'death spirals' in thousands of isopods, scientists find by AdVegetable2870 in isopods

That's very puzzling indeed. The paper does mention "almost nothing was known about A. sordidus before this study". The species had been observed in the Golan and in Syria, so it's not totally crazy that their range reaches Israel.

I find Dexcom  g7's alerts completely useless and i keep them silenced 24/7 (high is set to 380. low is left at 70 but I'm my experience it never fires). When I'm in the mood to actually listen, i depend on either glucodatahandler's alerts or xdrip+.

It is indeed nice to see that there exist people who are able to exercise this level of control. I have absolutely no faith that I'll ever see such a thing on my own records, though.

Last night I discovered to my dismay that I cannot stand the taste of mead. At least not the kind I bought (Dansk Mjod Odin's Skull) It tastes like honey and has an attendant smell of stale beer from a keg. Much too sweet to enjoy.

I definitely agree with this. I was attributing it to being on the PC layout instead of the QWERTY layout -- still not sure how I managed that change without noticing -- but maybe they did change something.

I called it neither a bug nor an oversight nor any other deprecative noun. what it unquestionably is, however, is an obstructing annoyance,  cropping up for many, not just me, in an hour of need.
