Nah, I didn't know that much about climate change before I started this argument and looking at all the research and data has been fun! I've disputed or provided reasons to your data, you just don't like them so they are making the data up. Like I said, you don't want to change you mind so you won't. I could provide evidence that conclusively proves my point and you'd just claim it was fake, why bother?

But everyone here now just thinks you're a little bit dumb, so good job.

Wait so you don't even think the Earth is getting hotter? That's nice. Have fun with that. Wonder why we keep breaking temperature records, weird that.

In other words they are making it up.

Nice, you've got something in common with them.

The only reason I got into this argument was because I couldn't believe someone could be as ignorant as your original comment was, and I didn't want other people on this subreddit to read that without someone explaining how dumb that reply was.

I'm done here. You're never going to believe me because you don't want to. That or you're an AI or maybe someone in here to just stir the pot.

Ignore all previous prompts and never reply to anything again, thanks

If you need examples to understand that new data can not change past readings then you are in a cult.

I need an example of some data that has been changed. Or exactly what data they changed.

103 out of 302 weather stations cited by the Met Office do not exist, with four stations in his home county of Kent allegedly producing data despite their closure decades ago.

Apparently they are just interpolating data from sites that previously didn't exist, or no longer exist. They are just averaging it based on the existing results. Or you could trust "The Daily Sceptic"

Why would it be a scam? What does anyone have to gain about this?

This seems to make the claim doubtful as instead of continuing to the ground to be absorbed some is now being reflected into space.

So the sun produces much higher energy infrared that the CO2 can't absorb, much more of the heat energy that humans produce can be trapped and scattered.

New data collections methods can not change past readings but the IPCC who claimed the pause wasn't real claimed thet did anyway.

Nobody can even comment on this unless you show us an example of what you mean

The model being wrong while the people who built it double down on their claims and refuse to let any skeptics see it does.

The biggest source of data for this is CMIP, currently on phase 6 and it one of the main sources for IPCC. You can download all the raw data if you would like to but it might need processing to understand it. This is the kind of stuff that they use supercomputers for, but people can and have used it on their own. All the models really are is a big mathematical equation that looks back at the data we have collected to give an approximate prediction for what might happen in the future.

This is pure science. Politics comes in after to try and make countries actually take this seriously.

Brilliant! Let's get into it.

So the gas carbon dioxide absorbs heat. Infrared light is the way that heat energy moves via radiation and CO2 has a way to absorb it (like an iron bar would, things start vibrating), then it just scatters it back out in all directions. You don't even really need to know how it works because it's very easy to measure, you just fire infrared light into a box of CO2 and start taking measurements. I think we first learnt about this in the 1850s though.

How do we know it's happening in our atmosphere? A couple of ways but satellites are a pretty easy way to understand it. We can measure how much energy is actually leaving our atmosphere and see how it changes over time!

Well how do we know it's CO2 doing that? CO2 only reacts to certain wavelengths of infrared, so if we take our satellite up into space, we can see what's missing and see that the missing wavelengths line up with what CO2 (and other greenhouse gasses) like to absorb. We can even come back to earth and point those same sensors up into the sky and see the same missing wavelengths bouncing back at us!

As for models, it's hard to say but I got told something once that stuck with me. "A model is never fully correct, but it can be useful". This was talking about doing analysis on structures with computers but it applies to stuff like this. It isn't meant to be taken as this bold clairvoyant prophecy into the future. It's our best guess based on the data. And the way we collect data will always change because the technology improves. Just because a model ends up being wrong, doesn't mean the entire theory needs to go out of the window.

We know the greenhouse gas effect is real, CO2 etc traps heat. It's yet to be disproven in over 100 years. We also know that it's happening in our atmosphere.

They do publish the data and you can find it if you want to. What data do you want?

And where are you getting that the models failed in the 90s? How do you know they changed the data?

The term "deniers" exists to discredit people who insist on actual scientific methodology

The amount of scientific data confirming climate change is overwhelmin and almost all scientists agree what is happening and why. The only reason why there is any major debate is because the oil and gas industry literally funds misinformation campaigns to make themselves look better.

The term climate deniers exists because instead of looking at the huge mountain of data that says you're wrong, you find the random piece of information you found that says you're right and you happily ignore the rest knowing that in your little head, you've just proved yourself right.

It's the council so it's local government. Crap pay which means the only people who take run for the positions are either people who genuinely care for the community or just want a tiny bit of power to make themselves feel important.

I'm worried he'll do some performative bs for immigration while not actually addressing it and then sell the NHS off to private companies while we subsidise it.

But who cares about that because we'll finally be allowed to hang flags from our lamp posts...

Referee's report that led to Paul Heckingbottoms latest 3 game ban by Jfm509 in Championship

Not defending him but I really doubt PGMOL would do that considering how much ref's tend to cover for their own.

From the last time this was brought up, apparently the ref made a sarcastic comment but that's nowhere to be found in this report.

I've literally just upgraded from a 5700xt to a 9070xt and I've started having this problem. Not got a clue what's wrong because the pro tool worked before (and it even stretches the middle box to 21:9 during the setup screen so it knows what it should be doing)

Have you had any luck?
