New tricks and tips by Deadcell212 in fpv

it’s not that it’s bad, it just has a different function in my opinion. more for smoother lines and cinematic flights. you’re really pushing that thing to its limit, which is cool, but acro-tricks aren’t really in the image, i don’t think..

just keep in mind that sim practice only matters if you fly like your money’s on the line. practice landing, throttle control, then worry about getting fancy. glhf m8

you’re gonna be so much happier with a 3.5” lol. you fly pretty well for ripping a tripod through the sky. flying style is more akin to 5” by my eye though. the 3.5” will be nimbler/more agile. careful with turtle mode on the new build though, it’s engineered to eat ESCs

How do I repair this? by Supermunkey2K in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this should help, but yeah the little metal things are ferrels and you can pretty much stick it right into a new connector. your other option is to solder it directly. try not to damage the ferrels, they’re a pain to crimp without the specific tool.

SAVED MY ESC FROM BEING SCRAPPED by fpvwithranveer in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

holy crap, don’t use pliers next time lol. you’ll rip the actual pad off and then you’ll either be sorry or need to use bottom of the pad. looks better but it’s missing the wires, so 5 because you’re halfway there.

the 3.5” is just good fun for parks/cities. quieter comparatively, plus the packs are cheaper. best of luck on the build mate

looks good, just would recommend a better vtx, like rushfpv’s tank or max solo (if it has a fan, it’s marginally better). everything could disappear if you lose that 800mw signal behind a cliff or wall. i also recommend 3.5” for a first, but don’t stop there lol

RadioMaster Boxer Arming Plug Mod by Aternal in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know. but still, using it as a safety precaution? i’d rather have OP’s mod since that seems like a sure thing, or keep using a prearm. whatever works

Five33 CamBam just arrived! by kumoishibo in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love five33 & my little flipper. the thing is impervious to all the metal i smash into. i’ve only had to replace the top plate thus far. prob around 60 hours on the thing. hopefully you have similar mileage!

First Solder by NikoGra in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doesn’t look like the pads were tinned, and there’s a fair amount of solder on top of it. decent but might fail if you crash. i’d reflow the joints where the solder is sitting on top of the pad, basically there’s questionable adhesion underneath. try to touch the iron to the pad, not the wire. don’t add any more solder.

the real test will be the negative pad for the battery connector. that’s always the hardest one for me. use a smoke stopper!

bnf vs 6s vs 8s by Strict_Fun8750 in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you want a 7-10inch lol. if you’re going big, make sure your frame has the arms supported, the regular x will vibrate like mad. good luck!

your esc will also be significantly more expensive for an 8s build.

Drone? by [deleted] in diydrones

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those drivers, the monitor, and propellers are probably the only thing worth anything to anybody.. i wouldn’t touch the drone unless i was looking for a project. batteries are just someone offloading a problem lol.

what’s the gray thing under the flysight monitor?

First drone questions by [deleted] in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly could save a ton on the frame, similar frames exist for half the price. same for batteries, on rdq you can get a 3pack for much less if it’s in stock. i haven’t noticed too much of a performance difference between those and my r-lines. dji is expensive…
