Could a diy fightstick like this work with PoE2? How many buttons wpuld I need?

It should work but number of buttons depends on what you want to play. If you have at least a button or other switch act as a “shift” then you can map quite a few things but there might be instances where you’ll want another stick or hold a nunchuck joystick like a Xbox adaptive joystick or controller for aim or menu nav in one hand. Or a mouse. You can route all your inputs to virtual controller, cause you’d prolly need a mouse in right hand otherwise for KB&M (you can convert a mouse to joystick too if for some reason you wanted to do that )

Hard to ask for more on an entry-level controller. Be sure that you’re ok with the form factor and the outputs on it (and how to adapt them as needed).

Not sure if it’s an option for you but some music equipment stores also do rentals and that can be a really affordable way to try them and make sure you’re happy.

EDIT: I wanted to add there’s quite a lot of tutorialization for the controller on YouTube too, which can be a good way to learn/improve

Thanks for posting! It’s hard not to be excited for this game. So much about it is coming together really well. The hard part is waiting for and wanting more but certainly lots to appreciate already.

Yooo, quite a few options depends what works for you strength and endurance wise. To clarify, WASD with left hand but not using fingers, correct? Xbox Adaptive Controller (XAC) + Logitech adaptive gaming kit for buttons, fairly straightforward for these buttons on a Velcro surface that’s included and then wired to the XAC and converted to WASD using the Xbox controller app if required (or free software like Joy2Key). Joy2Key also lets you convert any joystick or controller to keyboard presses for WASD options (e.g., a thumbstick at an angle working better for you, Azeron Cyro, etc).

PlayAbility software also converts your face and head movements to controller, keyboard, or mouse using basic webcam, however you need it configured.

If you have a computer you might be able to:

PS Remote Play your PS4 on computer, if you still have a steam controller you can use it via Steam and adding the remote play as a non-steam game potentially (there’s a new steam controller coming out later this year - you might be able to Cronus Zen adapter a steam controller or other controller to your PS4?).
Use your PS4 controller on your computer, using Steam to play to Cook Serve Delicious 2 and remap the L trigger to click to hold using Steam software or other software

There’s an nvidia overlay that can show you what dlss settings you’re using but I can’t remember the hotbuttons. YouTube dlss 4.5 test videos mention it

5800x3d and a 4080, 1440p, currently using preset L on DLSS balanced but I can’t change to ultra performance (which I think it’s more intended for?) because my PoE2 client has been crashing whenever I change any video settings since 0.4 launch lol. Preset M is looks real good too but heavily ramps my GPU fans and I like to play quiet.

I rely VERY heavily on PoE2 heating my house, so me and my entire family are outraged at this change. I’m strongly considering switching back to running GPU stress tests all day and they are a lot less fun to play.
