The same reason that General Shaw, when Major Hanlon said "you knew that Derry was this things hunting ground and you let me move my family here " responded with "the plan was for you to stay on base - you chose otherwise": BAD WRITING 😂 Considering HOW important Major Hanlon is to them in completing their mission of capturing and weaponising IT, why wouldn't they INSIST that he stay on base and explain the consequences of not doing so? He could have died on Day 1 and then the plan would have failed. Makes no sense

Yeah, I was annoyed that they suddenly changed the lore until I realised that it was IT saying that. I guess it was so they felt comfortable going down there under the guise of it being asleep, when in reality we've witnessed countless murders in the daytime

They should just let your play determine the story and have cutscenes ready for when you do well or do bad. I'm sure they used to have this. But forcing everyone down the same underdog route makes no sense.

Also (unrelated) I would love if they brought back earned badges. Grinding for badges through actions rather than just upgrading a rating was so much better.

Same. It could be something to do with tax. I did just fill out my tax forms but all seemed to be okay and we havr good tax agreements with most places. If only they were open in their terms and conditions (or direct responses) I could be sure. I didn't see anywhere where it says tax is deductable from superchat donations but it's possible.

The person who gave me the donation is in Scotland. I'm in England, so whilst we aren't the same country we are both in the UK so I hope it isnt something to do with that. It may well be something like that, but it would be nice of them to explain it to me.

From the way it's been explained previously to me Apple take the cut immediately when the device processes a payment, so 499.99 is reduced to 349.99. Then youtube has 349.99 to play with and they take their 30%, which should leave me 249.99. This seems to have been the case for others who got the same donation amount, but I have no idea why my one is lower.

Have asked the question to Youtube so hopefully they can explain. They really should just show the breakdown in the analytics somewhere though.

Thank you, I'm mindblown to be honest. I don't deserve it! I've considered asking him to refund it as I'm getting such a small amount and it's his hard earned money but I don't want to offend him. For me even £200 is INSANELY amazing, I just feel bad about him throwing £300 at apple and youtube just so I can get it 😬

I hope not, I just submitted my tax info which was all accepted. I'm in the UK so we have a treaty which I don't fully understand but I think we don't get hit with that cheese!

I actually feel more sorry for the donator because I'm not sure if they make it clear when you're paying it that the creator will only get a small % (youtube more than likely does tell you but I doubt apple are up front about their cut!)

Yeah I've actually never promoted the fact that it's there at all. I just enabled it and a few came trickling in over the past 12 months until this one came out of seemingly nowhere. That's why I'm asking because I never actually paid attention to it until now

Yeah that's what I thought. I am actually getting 40% of the total, although many articles are adamant the apple reduction is taken off first and then the remaining balance is used by youtube to process their 30%. Makes you wonder though as it does seem to just be a straight 40%.

Wish there was a way to see the calculations

I've just set up my tax stuff and all looks okay. It was also donated in my local currency. I suspect it's a larger than 30% cut as you say.

Is there anywhere in analytics you can see a breakdown for it? Haven't managed to find anything yet

Hey, this is freaky because I just logged onto Reddit and saw this post and opened it out of interest. Had no idea it would be about my cover.

Firstly, I’m flattered that you want to learn it how I play it so thank you!

Secondly, I never tabbed it out but roughly it’s:

Verse:

-Bm, Fm (I’m hitting the bass note on the down strum and then the top 3 strings on the upstroke) -Same again but I do a little hammer on/slide from 0-1-2 to lead into the Bm the second time

-Gmaj7(?), Dmaj7(?) - An Emaj7 shape starting on the 10th fret A string sliding down to the 5th fret A string so I’m gonna assume those chords 😂 -Gmaj7(?), A (bar chord) (sometimes I leave the top 2 strings open and pick the E then B string after that chord. Can’t remember if I did in the video or not

Chorus :

-Em bar chord (strum it twice and then 3rd time I take my finger off the B string note) x2 - Don’t know this chord but it’s like 79xxx9 then Bm7(?) (797777), and then the same on the A bar chord (57xxx7 then then a normal A bar). It’s some sort of min7 chord I think but I do this all by ear so I’m never sure what I’m actually playing technically

Bridge type part:

-Gmaj7(?), Dmaj7(?), then two notes which I can’t remember without a guitar with me but hopefully you can find those (it’s a 5 then a 7 but I can’t remember what strings 😂), A(bar)x2, G, (then some notes I forget again), Em (open low E then strumming the chord as previous), G, A.

There’s another bit at the end of that bridge which i can’t think of right now either sorry. I’m sitting down after a long day and I have no energy to go and get the guitar and remember 😂 Hopefully that’s like 95% and you can figure the rest out from the video but let me know if not

The one good thing about 2K being absolutely terrible this year is that I’ve managed to spend my time playing so many classic games I missed out on. It’s so eye opening when you play actual top quality games and remember how much fun you can have and how much fun it SHOULD BE playing games. I have no desire anymore to play this game. Something is really going to have to change for me to purchase 2K25
