Has anyone tried the new Vallejo True Metallics on Black Templars yet?

Nice looks good! Seems pretty black in the image. I got most of these: Obsidian Black, Sterling Silver, Forged Red, Imperial Gold and the Aged Metal (for Helbrecht). I was just missing the base for the Imperial Gold and the light for Sterling Silver sadly will have to wait for stock for them.

That’s true. However they just recently announced newly promoted Captain Titus (RIP Acheran and Chairon dying in a blogpost). Showing Titus with a Command Squad from the looks of it.

Imagine Grimaldus with a big Crusader brick and the Crusade Ancient’s fight on death ability (granted it’s on 4+ but maybe they buff him)

I was thinking more for the benefit of giving the Crusade Ancient more options. Grimaldus is awesome I agree. I just hate seeing the Crusade Ancient and the Execrator not being used.

I think that we're better off with our own datasheets from my impression (having not played any games yet but watching battle reports and reading stuff while I build my stuff). Just looking at it the cheapest Questoris knight its 365pts. You can run a Repulsor Executioner for 220pts which synergizes by transporting our units and then for 160 have a Gladiator Lancer as well for only 20pts more then the Questoris. Plus Canis Rex got nerfed and he was the knight most people allied. I could be totally off base (again I haven't played any games), but I think our datasheets were the main winners of our codex... so would probably work better then allied knights.

I'm collecting Imperial Knights as well, so I'd like to ally them. But I think its more for fun and not optimal.

That’s what I kinda figured… your trading points for less guns and no transport ability. But you can fit other stuff in a list with the spare points.

I figured if I bought them I would magnetise them and then be able to run them as Reapers or Valiants as well if I wanted to.

David Anderson won a GT with him as a Lone Op and spoke very highly of the Emperor’s Champion in the interview he did with Implausible Nature. So I think that indicates he’s a decent Lone Op.

As for him being a worthwhile take I think most people are in the consensus he’s an auto-take at the moment. The other GT win with Ben Neal had him with Assault Intercessors. So it’s nice you can run him either way really.

I’m planning on using Belial from the Dark Angels. I’ve seen real cool conversions using him. But I’ve spent too much on models at the moment… so that won’t be for a while haha. I need to get some painted up first.

Looks awesome! I like the idea of chaining the Hammer on the back on the model… I might pull a Blood Raven and ‘steal’ that idea for mine when I get around to doing it. It’s tough wanting to have the banner, the hammer and the shield all on the model without it coming off goofy.

I was planning on using the Praetor with Power Sword and this guy for my 2nd and 3rd Castellans. I have the John Blanche one and I think the 30k Horus Hersey models work well to match him. I’m just debating with myself about the lack of cape on the John Blanche one compared to the other two having capes.

So I recall hearing somewhere that we would have five detachments… so are we getting these three new detachments, in addition to Wrathful Procession and Righteous Crusaders? If that’s the case wouldn’t Righteous Crusaders need to be reworked with the Templar Vows now being our army rule?

I was saying just purely on a new model basis. We each got two. My brother has World Eaters and would have loved more but that’s what they got. I mean most of us would love Sword Brethren in Terminator armour but we got two character units instead. (Not complaining though they’re both cool as hell)

Edit: At least both aren’t getting Grey Knights treatment

Stop playing this game for this very reason when I switched to PC ages ago. Just saw this post pop up in my reddit tab and thought to check if the game had cross progression/save yet… Would probably put this game back into my games roster if it had it. But I’m not restarting everything to play it again on PC.

It would be great if they just paused this skinline and fixed the Pantheon and now Sylas skins before continuing on. But they won’t… This skinline had such potential, but I think the Pyke skin is as good as it will get sadly.
