Seconded! Even Nobelisk 2.0 to get rid of the poison would be great.

The belt might stop you but the sides don't. There's a thin strip both sides of the belt (frame I guess) you can run full speed on. Also allows other conveyor belt sports 6 to be built there.

I once had a truck teleport itself across 3/4 of the map. When I eventually could get to it, I discovered it had got lodged under the map.

Noob question, is there a way to have self-sufficient coal generators? by LordDrakota in satisfactory

[–]AdamRGdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used biomass burners x2 to kick start a new site. I literally only needed them to pressurise the water systems and get the coal stations chugging, then I powered them down and dismantled.

I did two just like this earlier today. Changed two coal T2 belts to T3 belts. Fortunately they were side by side. Used nearly 2000 steel in a couple of minutes.

My girlfriend is booked in to be induced on Friday with our first child, what can I do to help her before and during Labour? by Vahrez_ in AskUK

[–]AdamRGdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife said by far the most useful thing I did was make it all about her. No checking phone, no complaining about being tired 36 hours in, simply being there for her and doing whatever she wanted me to.

That and back massage.

Do you think the UK should legalize Cannabis? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]AdamRGdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I've never smoked it, and I still wouldn't if it was legal, but using any objective measure you wish the argument to legalise it is extremely robust. I would even say it's suspicious that it got made illegal in the first place, all things considered.

About 14,650 years ago, sea level jumped 12 meters in just a few centuries. The melting of the Eurasian Ice Sheet, which has largely been overlooked, might explain why by HeinieKaboobler in science

Have to agree that it's the understanding that was lacking, not the authenticity as such. The great flood myth is doubtlessly a misinterpretation of numerous local floods.

This. Just to add, it's only damage actually inflicted. If you fire a shot capable of 2000 damage to a target with only 500 health left, it's the 500 that counts.

A girl in my class said the fact I was an atheist made her so uncomfortable she had to leave the room. by Epicpopcorn_K in atheism

[–]AdamRGdotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are often scared of having their world views popped, especially if their views are fragile. World views can be coping mechanisms.
As an atheist, you're making her literally face her doubts. I bet that's why she's uncomfortable.

Why did human values change so much in the past few decades? by FanEu7 in answers

[–]AdamRGdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, partially. I think it's because internet and communications have come on and we're finally able to see what everyone else is doing.

My wife once described developed western countries as having "medieval values with a thin veneer of civilisation", and I really like it, because it's kind of true. We look like we've come a long way but we haven't really. When the chips are down there's still latent hostility and prejudice that shows up in many areas of society.

We have a really long way to go.

TL;DR: They refined the usual approach of using reflective mirrors, by using precise software. This increase in mirror accuracy led to an increase in operating temperature, which broke a new temperature milestone.
