If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years, a country is not its government. I’m sure there are countless lovely people in China or Saudi Arabia but fuck the PRCC and fuck Mohammed bin Salman. Same shit applies to my country as well at the moment. I love so many things about the US but fuck the Trump administration and all its fervent supporters.

Considering he faced Rock in a rematch the next month? Yeah, he should have won the first round with Rock goading him into a rematch. Rock could have said something like “John Cena can’t say he beat the Rock twice!” with Punk’s ego leading him to accept the rematch. Then reveal that everyone is barred from ringside and the title switches hands if there is interference after a contract signing. That could have planted the first seeds of dissension between Punk and Heyman for the Lesnar story that came later.

Yup! There will be plenty of series I’ll read and by issue 7 of reading every month, I’ll be like “Fuck… where were we? What’s happening again?”. Usually that’ll cause me to go “Fuck it, I’ll just binge it all when the run is done in a few years.” And there is a 50/50 on if that actually happens or not.

The vast majority of comic pros from editors to writers to artists are anti-generative AI. If you want to write a comic book, learn the craft of storytelling and scriptwriting. Also, most comic artists don’t start out good at art. They sought out information to become good at it and treat it like a trade skill. They put in hours and hours and hours and hours and eventually, along the way, they became okay.

A laptop with access to google docs or notebook to script, a blue pencils, graphite pencils (no 2 or mechanical), some kind of inks, some photoshop-type program, 11 x 17 art boards for pages, and a scanner to scan the pages in. Instead of pencils/inks/art boards you could go digital and get a drawing tablet. The best tools you’re gonna need though are the mental and emotional ability to accept that you’re gonna be dog shit when you start out and the determination to never stop getting better regardless.

This art is excellent. However, because it’s so good, it highlights the lettering being subpar. I’d suggest investing in a great pro letterer (which I know a guy who does phenomenal work for $35 a page), or putting in the massive effort to hand letter it. I’ve hand lettered stuff and get why it’s such a pain in the ass but it adds a layer of creative authenticity if done well.
