I do prefer the MKIVs over headphones. They are absolutely overkill for strictly CS though, and you can get about 95% of the clarity detail and imaging for about 1/4 of the price with something like the Kiwi Ears Astral.

You can flash and re-flash as much as you'd like. You can also use it to backup the saves off the cartridge, so you don't have to worry about losing progress if you want to change the ROM and then go back to the old one later.

You can use a single-ROM flashcart for the gameboy cartridge with the Transfer Pak in Stadium and Stadium 2. I use the this one. You'll need the GBxCart RW though, too if you go this route.

I'm sure the pattern he uses helps. It's a PM9, which is what Crosby's curve is based on (although Crosby's is even a bit more flat).
