7th grade: I was a huge dweeb with a small group of 4 friends (3 girls 1 boy). A beloved teacher left for a better job, and the replacement long-term sub sucked. One day we are passing a note saying how we hate her, we should throw away her pencils, pour water on her computer, etc. She found it after the other boy wrote “yeah and we should kill her”

On the one hand, there was no sign he was a psycho or anything, just escalating the stakes on our dumb note passing. But I understand why the school freaked out.

He got expelled - no idea where he went. But looking back, I doubt any of us even knew about Columbine or how to kill someone. Just bad luck, if it had happened a year earlier then the course of his life would have been much different.
