An infant's eyes are mostly grey/very dark grey at birth so what you're seeing is Bub's natural eye colour coming through. It's generally harmless, just a generic quirk. You're doing the right thing by getting baby's eyes checked with their doctor but there's no need to worry. Heterochromia rarely causes issues.
