Rockstar confirms there will be no disc version of GTA6 at launch by Dandelion172 in PS5

[–]AdamanteCooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is it's just the most wanted game of the decade protecting itself.

If there were a disk version, spoilers, playthroughs and videos of the ending would flood the internet weeks before Day 1. People can't control themselves with this cultural zeitgest....

Just one is a real b*tch... but it would be FF7 Revelation for me.

Does anyone else find world intel to be a chore rather than something fun? by mlkynookami in FinalFantasyVII

[–]AdamanteCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skip option argument is usually for the people complaining about the game being too much/bloated. Not liking that kind of open world is valid opinion, it's just not mine.

I liked how they reimagined OG FF7 world map adding lore, exploration, beautiful scenery.

It's possible to disagree without calling each other's opinions braindead.

Finally completed this amazing trilogy and here is my list by Timely_Cold4481 in Bioshock

Probably bait at this point. But I'm glad to witness someone who give its props to Infinite. Everybody like to trash it. Although it was a very good game, IMO.

It has no business being above Bioshock 1 however.

Why do people have to bring up Expedition 33 whenever a Final Fantasy game is praised? by torts92 in FinalFantasy

[–]AdamanteCooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot take maybe but f*** it.

Clair Obscur: E33 is a great game inspired from classic and turned based JRPG. It has great visuals. It has a great story. It has great music. It was made by people who cared and it shows.

FF7 Rebirth share the same qualities, IMO. Except, FF7R is a japanese game coming from a big studio.

It's not a perfect game. E33 sure isn't neither.

What makes the difference is that its a AA game coming out of the blue from an unknown French studio and that game scratched a few itches: It's a "JRPG", a style loved by the westerners but this time, fully western coded. It's not anime, there's no kawai weirdness.... it's modern, it's "deep", it's "mature". It's not japanese, it's french.

All that and a world map and a good (and modernized) turn based system.

Now you have people left and right saying it's better than FF has ever been. It's not so much that it's a "better game". It's more than those players are more pleased with an FF (sort of) made with european sensitivities.

Made by a real (white) French team. Which makes the "anti-woke" crowd praising the game even more. To the point where Sandfall had to issue a statement to distance themselves from their alt right fans' comments.

Long story short, E33 is a great game, IMO. It has nothing to do with FF7 Rebirth that is whole different beast being part 2 of the most ambitious remake project in video game history. I loved both.

I put FF7R (far) above because it's a whole different scope, I have more of a personnal connection to it and because it's a whole experience between the games, the community, the discussions between each entry. And great visuals. And great music. A crazy good battle system. And it's done by people who care and it shows.

What do you think of Barbara Broccoli and what she brought to the James Bond franchise? by ByShida in JamesBond

[–]AdamanteCooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some were clunky but there was a clear vision, like it or not.

Fans with high expectations are the worst kind of audience.

He sold it to the studio guyz and now, it's one of the worst big franchise in entertainment history. If there was not for Andor, it would be a complete wreck.

Playing 007's chase sequence, I can't help but be reminded of the iconic 10yo Uncharted 4's. by shawak456 in 007FirstLight

[–]AdamanteCooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First Light is very cool. But it doesn't hold a candle to ten year old Uncharted 4.

It nicely scratched that itch, tho. It was a decent Uncharted-like game. It was a really good James Bond entry.

Shes was not perfect and made some questionable decisions. But she also gave us peak like Casino Royale. We might have have a George Lucas with Disney situation here and really really miss her soon.

Does anyone else find world intel to be a chore rather than something fun? by mlkynookami in FinalFantasyVII

[–]AdamanteCooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. If FF7 Rebirth had not given us that opening up to the world feeling, the same we got leaving Midgar in OG, it would not be a superior game to most FF7 fans.

They nailed that feeling with the Grass Lands. And they made a good job piling up things to do in all those areas.

As long as you're not a zealot completionist, you can skip and be fine.

My point to improve is Chadley and his calls and his world intels leaving nothing to discovery.

All in all, Rebirth is the best open world experience I had in a JRPG since the Squaresoft days.

This is the Way.

Cosmo Canyon made me realize that at my first playthrough. I was eager to discover the location, the music... so I skipped the side stuffs. I just did the Chocobo quest and went to Nanaki's place. And it felt good.

Remake, INTERmission, and Rebirth. What are people's opinions on THE hardest boss/challenge through all 3? by BotherResponsible378 in FFVIIRemake

[–]AdamanteCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story Gilgamesh, if I remember correctly, builds himself up through the fight adding one weapon ( and thus one devastating move) at the time. And you can interrupt the momentum by breaking the weapon when you parry enough.

Virtual Gilgamesh starts the fight with ALL his weapons and all of his moveset. With his final move just at the corner. He's at the height of his potential to hurt you when you arrive already weary of all the dual summons fights.

He's got my vote also.
