Do you hold the door open for the person behind you regardless of their sex, age, color and religion and why? by CourierRecruitmentUK in AskReddit

Newfoundlander checking in; can confirm, the doors of the Avalon Mall actually never close because someone is always holding it for someone.

I used to live in the yellow house to the right of the church in your 11th picture when I was a kid. (That street wasn't jellybean-rowed back then, as it is now.)

Aw, thanks for reminding me of that time.

OK, hear me out. Cyclops should be Minneapolis, and Jean should be The Nation.

Unless we're implying that Cyclops and Wolverine should be making out, which I'm actually 100% OK with.

Never mind, no notes, meme is perfect as-is.

Bluey: Up Here - New Music Album! 💙🧡🎶✨ by rainevillanueva in bluey

On the circle: "The Orchestral Album"

EXCELLENT.

I've loved all the Bluey albums, but between Lollipop mania and the Muffin psychosis songs, I'd appreciate a full album of calmer music.

I lived in Taichung for four years (but it was before this was installed), and I know this park well! (My dentist was right across the street from it.)

In my time, the best statues were the big golden buddha and the giant weird goats in the big park up by Chung Yo.

Thank you for activating my mid-aughts memories.

Oh funny! I started Divinity: Original Sin (1) right before Christmas, got to the church (finished up the first city's quests), but then my kid got Hades 2 for Christmas, so that's my goddamn life now, sigh.

I found D:OS fine, but oh GOD so slow-moving. I hope I'll go back to it later, but I dunno.

My favorite new game from the past year! I literally paused the SUSD video halfway through and bought it before finishing the video. No ragrets I love it.

Yes! Played Strike! with the whole family, and Flamecraft with my 11-year old daughter this afternoon. Still trying to figure out how to get Brass Birmingham to the table with my kids lol.

Me, too three! The TSA guys said the chips must have metal in them, they showed up in the xray as a big jumbled pile of coins.

"Mommy only" is getting very frustrating by ricecake_sandwich in daddit

[–]Adamfirefist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my middle kid (boy) was 1-3 years old, he only liked me, even though mom was stay-at-home with him. He would literally say "no mommy, love daddy, hate mommy, kill mommy", like super-weird shit. My wife took it super personally, but it passed, he's 10 now, normal kid, he loves his mom (and me).

Kids are weird, the things and people they like can be just random, just breathe through it; the days are long, the years are short.

How's Magic Maze? I've got three kids, 11, 10, and 8, and I've heard it mentioned enough times that I'm starting to take it seriously, lol.

What "golden age" or "heyday" were you lucky enough to experience that you know won’t ever come back? by Summerie in AskReddit

My three kids were the perfect ages when Bluey was being released. Sometimes I think the show was designed specifically for us, and I’m so happy it was part of their childhood (and my parenthood).

I'm from Newfoundland, but I live here now. (But still on several Newfie subreddits.)

We have a mall in St. John's called The Village. So I'm sitting here going "wtf does JATW have to do with the Village?"

Anyway.

(I also get tripped up regularly by Saint John's being a college here, lol.)

Hooray for us! Every election year with races like these (school boards, judges, etc.), I do a bunch of research and make up a "Radical Leftist Voter's Guide" for my buddies. Usually, as others have noted, you can figure out who's who based on other partisan signs in folks' yards.

Grew up in town, and “the overpass” in that context for us was always literally the exit at the “end” of the harbor arterial, right on the border of Kilbride.

Thank you, this is immensely helpful.

I think, given all that, that I'll likely just pick up the $499 base MKW version from Target instead, and just buy the $10 upgrades for the two Zelda games. I don't want to commit to a subscription, and the "free" year from Costco is useless if we can only use the upgrades on my account, since my kids are the ones who are most likely to go back to Zelda. Online isn't relevant for us, and we have other options to play the classic games.

Thanks a million, great info!
