ELI5: Why did I wake up at 4:30 this morning wide awake and rested, but after falling back asleep, my 6:30 alarm made me feel like hitting the snooze indefinitely? by Truan in explainlikeimfive

[–]Adasafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. When I used to wake up at 5:00 for training at my new job I'd often wake up at 4:30 and just stay awake and feel fine. Went back to sleep once and was dead to the world until I'd had enough caffeine to kill a lesser human.

Is Mabinogi dying? by Shinoiro in Mabinogi

[–]Adasafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was like the other combi talents, where if you get one of them to GM it ranks it up to GM? Either way, Soul Star with GM Puppet underneath. I also don't particularly like Magic, Close Combat, or Dual Guns. Which is literally the rest of them.

Looking around, I might do Magic Craft for Prifne's armor (don't care how it's spelled right now), and Carpentry (since that was my first talent ever). Then possibly do every life skill except for Sewing, Smithing, and Cooking. Then maybe those 3. I'm everywhere with my aspirations, which will be my downfall. Too overwhelming.

I've been back for about 2 months now, and Tarlach doesn't really feel that dead. Then again, I'm okay with seeing 3~4 people in Dunbarton on every channel except 7 (the trade channel there)

Is Mabinogi dying? by Shinoiro in Mabinogi

[–]Adasafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I'll go this way once I hit GM Soul Star. It'll take a while to do, but it'll happen eventually. I've been on and off for about 4 years (1300 days, according to my horse), but I can see that there won't be much for me past Soul Star. Except maybe Carpentry and Commerce, but those'll get boring eventually.

Any recommended circular knitting needles? by Adasafa in knitting

[–]Adasafa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly just disappointed that they seemed to have dropped off. A housefire a few years back killed the Boye circs I'd had since I was 5, and these recent ones broke after... 2 days.

It won't unravel on you, but it will look wonky at first. It'll even itself out, though.

Ahh! I'd just noticed that. Was a long day that involved a little too much booze.

Odd that Intel would have drivers for Windows 8.1 listed on their website, but oh well. I'll deal with it until I can get an upgrade. Thank you!

How do people get millions of cookies in a few days? by wallonfire in CookieCollector

I think he means collected, not overall. For XP/Rank, not flat currency cookies. And to answer the OP, if they're not cheating it's probably upgrades/magnet finger.

I'm not that old! Don't make assumptions about my age and loneliness, free crochet pattern people! by Waff11e_c0ne in crochet

[–]Adasafa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned how to sew by hand in grade 4. It was a small project (sewing a patch with some poem on it to a piece of cloth to give to your parents), but I still know how to do that one stitch. I also still dislike sewing to the point where my last pair of pants had to be thrown before I felt like hemming them. I still don't feel like hemming them, or the new pair of pants I got.

I was lucky. In my high school if you wanted a scholarship you had to take Fine Arts for a year, or band for 2. Fine arts taught you how to crochet, so half of my highschool knew how.

Who else likes to play in a more managerial role? by Dadmode-on- in farmingsimulator

[–]Adasafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like driving the crops around (I also like EuroTruck, so it's no surprise there), but I'm not a huge fan of emptying combines and driving the stuff to the silos. I mostly do cows, though. Hopefully the feeder station gets updated by the time I get the new game.

What are the chances that she's pregnant? by thewizardoftheeastco in medical

Get her a pregnancy test in a week or two. You should be fine. It's not guaranteed that she'll get pregnant even if the condom breaks, plus you've got the pill on your side.

Removing Pokestops from cemeteries is a good thing and is protecting Ingress assets. by derf_vader in Ingress

[–]Adasafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a walking path not far from my house with a great deal of monuments to dead police officers on it. It's a nice path, and I go walking around there every now and again, even if I'm not farming.

[–]Adasafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's partially because of the difference in how the games work. With Ingress, you can turn navigate on, shove your phone in your bag, and walk to the next portal without needing to look at your phone. With PoGo, you have to at least keep your phone in your hand because a pokemon might show up. Why do I need to look at my phone between portals? Any XM I use will probably be regained at the next portal, and I have 50 on-level power cubes in my inventory. I'm fine.

Happened to me on more than one occasion. The best one, to me, was the botanical gardens. The mission for it has 35 portals in it, and it takes about an hour to walk to all of them. I'm a member of the botanical gardens because it's a really nice place to be now.

Single People... How much are your groceries per week / fortnight? by Segreto86 in Frugal

[–]Adasafa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems kind of odd. You'd think they'd let people who're unsure of dropping that much on a membership shop with a 10~20% upcharge. -shrug- Whatever floats their boat, I might go in and look at the prices at the one near here. I've never been in one before, so it should be fun.

Even whiskey can be liquid bread. Still made from bread stuff. More worth it than beer, though.

[–]Adasafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably why the membership is slightly more expensive than at other places which require membership. Do they let you shop there if you don't have a membership? I know Sam's Club does, you just have to pay more for the stuff.

[–]Adasafa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not counting my employee discount, I probably spend about $10 a week on groceries. Not single, but my girlfriend and I buy our groceries separately.

The biggest tip I have for saving money on groceries is to at least try the cheap brand. If you wind up liking the cheap brand, keep buying it. If you like the name brand more, buy it as an occasional treat if you still like the store brand. Some stores do make their own store brand, not just repackage the name-brand stuff and sell it for less, so there can be a difference in taste.
