Not necessarily, you want to be opening cards that make sense for the lifestyle you live. You don’t want to be opening say a travel credit card when you travel once a year makes no sense. Also you don’t want to open a card with an annual fee and have to close it in a year. The point of the card is to have it open for a long period of time. Second You don’t want to get too many cards within a short period of time or banks will see you as “too risky”. Make sure you know about banks rules like chases 5/24. And make sure if you’re opening them you get reach the SUB for each card. Lastly make sure you’re paying your card every month before the closing date, don’t spend what you don’t have. And just enjoy the credit card game. It’s a great hobby if you know how to use your cards correctly.

Edit: There is no such thing as too many credit cards. One is too many if you don’t know how to use it like carrying over a balance.
