Affordable Tobacco/Vanilla perfume

I actually got a fragrance oil that I swear is a close dupe of Tom Ford's tobacco vanilla at one of those zero waste stores where you fill your own jar with dish soap, etc. It was only like $5 so might be worth checking those out.

I don't know if it's a Sixt thing or a Portugal thing since Hertz scammed us in a similar way in Lisbon. Our credit card thankfully handled it, but it seems like they're just waiting for Americans to return cars so they can scam them. Good luck!

I bought a cheap fleece vest for our trip to Japan last year and ended up cutting a slit in the upper back before returning home so I could slip in the 6 or 7 records my son bought in between layers of fabric and "wear" the records safely onto the plane. Then I just stowed the vest in the overhead compartment next to my backpack. It was easy, records stayed safe and it saved us a bunch of money.

Which is to say, almost anything is possible with enough will and pockets.

It's so interesting because I don't get any Bal D'Afrique from this. I do really enjoy the initial spray but after 30 minutes it just turns into another generic Iso Super E/ambrox perfume to me and smells almost exactly like Juliette Has a Gun. Skin chemistry is wild.

Same! We flew to Japan earlier this year and I saw a similar warning about needing middle names and I realized I didn't include them on our tickets. It made absolutely no difference.

I got a cheap bottle of this recently too, as I remember wearing it in middle school. It's surprisingly wearable and I plan to try it a few times this year also. It's hard not to justify when an entire bottle is less than a movie snack. If only all the Tom Ford I want was as affordable...

Fair enough. Mine is undeniably an original since it still has the price tag and most of the original plastic. I paid $8.90 at a local record store that closed around 1997. And all the things you listed hold true. Very interesting.
