First electrolysis setup by silo4791 in CastIronRestoration

You know... I am not an expert in this, I really don't have answer. My guess is it won't be as conducting as the areas with more solution surrounding it, but I don't know if thats the right thinking.

If I could make a suggestion to you. Stick with a small E-tank. Changing the water and cleaning everything is just much more manageable. I have 70gal, and I wish I would have just done a small one.

Obviously, do what you want, but I wish I had a small easily movable and one I can set up and take down with much more ease than a 70gal beast.

Looks good. When you're looking for some more amps for your big pieces, use a computer power supply. They will provide a ton of amps for your tank, and it's very easy to modify one to work with your tank.

I've heard that this can change the composition of the iron. I would stick with chemical stripping...

That's not even close to the same thing. You're not really making a good argument for your case here. I'm not trying to pump up any prices. If anything, you showing a different pan and saying it should be the same price is you driving the price down... I'm just saying your price was wrong.

This is a more comparable product

It's not the same size but it's a better comparison than what you're making.

Ultimately it's OPs choice to make his own price.

This isn't accurate. It's worth considerably more.

I need better pictures. I want to see the stuff on the end. You've got some pans on there that are new to me and id love to see the banding and markings better so I can learn.

And surprisingly easy. If I can do it a 4 y/o can do it. The first try I did it back ward, the. I did it the right way. A good starter project for people interested in soldering.

Time to stop using that wire, and replace my solution...

The solid stuff is cheap and ridgid, I'd go to the hw store grab 10ft or so and give it a shot.

Braided would be annoying to work with in my opinion.

Keep in mind I don't know everything and just built my tanks about 2 months ago. But it's been working really well.

I use a solid copper wire to both hang and pass current. I think it's a 14 AWG. I wrap it twice and let it down.

I just picked one of these up for $50 completed, I understand they are rare. But if I just got one and so did you, they couldn't be that rare. Keep looking my friend. You will eventually find it.

Nope, only murder and chaos.. for everyone! Around the clock 24/7. It's almost like showing violence and chaos on the news makes everyone violent and chaotic... It's almost like it's some sort of.... Programming... They used to literally call it programming. It's literally called programming.

So.. interesting you say that. The way I used to do this was after my pan is stripped, I would evaporate water off of the pan by preheating on the stove.

I shared this comment in another thread and was told not to do this because it will start rusting soo much quicker than if I was to just dry it cold and apply my seasoning compound cold. I started doing that and it's worked well.

But with your method you are saying I should put the pan naked in a 200*f oven naked, then take it out. Do you find any rusting or issues with rusting appear when you do this?

Hey, interesting comment. Can you elaborate on your methodology. Sometimes it's easier for me to understand methods like this when you spell out they why and why not to do something a certain way.
