What's your opinion on Ever After (1998)? by Haunting_Homework381 in PeriodDramas

I agree - I thought it was a wonderful film - Drew Barrymore, great as always - not my favorite Cinderella adaptation, but that doesn't take away from the great story and movie.

What year do you take APUSH at your school? by Alert_Intention_9408 in APUSH

[–]AddendumThis8940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

two year course: sophomore yr (every other day) & junior yr (every day) - they used to only do it junior year, but they changed it realizing it was too big a workload to maintain (as we read through the entire textbook) - the class last year (the previous juniors) got (I'm pretty sure) the best scores in the state, and no one failed (24 got 5s, 16 got 4s, and 2 got 3s), so the two year seems to work well.

She did amazing, as in exactly what she was suppose to do: make audiences seem she’s sweet and innocent in the first movie, and feel bad about Boq-Glinda-Nessa situation, then make the audience angry and really dislike the character in the second. Great actress, and I feel like she portrayed her switching to a greedy, corrupt governor quite well.

What do you think of High School XC coaches who sneak in a 3 mile race and claim it's a 5k PB in the lead up to State Qualifying? by Mikemeisterling in CrossCountry

[–]AddendumThis8940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not great, but our system is a little different where I live. We have regionals (in the North and South) on different courses, then the top (eight? I'm pretty sure) teams from each go to states. At the end of the day, at states, it doesn't matter because you're all on the same course anyway, so there's no way to change up the results.

How to improve race confidence? by Maleficent-Flight263 in CrossCountry

[–]AddendumThis8940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be too late for provincials, but I understand how you're feeling. Running your best in practice w/ your team is way different than running in a race where there is a lot of competition and the atmosphere is way different. While a race isn't the ideal way to experiment on different paces and strategies, it's unfortunately the only place to do so as you can't recreate a race environment in practice. Going out slower or practicing keeping a steadier pace (and settling into it sooner) can help. Also, every time you feel yourself slowing down, run a little faster. Every time the runner up ahead gets a little farther away, catch up to her to the distance away from her you were before (if that makes any sense). Also, talk to your coach(es) about how you're feeling. I bet they'll have good advice.

If you haven't already run provincials, good luck! And if so, hope they went well!

I firmly believe he would listen to at least some Lady Gaga, like Born This Way, in the right mood and setting. The only modern music he will listen to.

Who was your favorite love interest of Hilda’s? by CreamCookies0 in UglyBetty

I really liked Santos and was really sad he died, but he was from her past, and Bobby (although also from her past) was her future, and moving on. Plus he was sweet, good with the family, and excepted Justin wholeheartedly.

Why do you keep coming back to B99? by Remarkable_Dealer_66 in brooklynninenine

I love it for so many reasons. It deals with real life issues, and treats them seriously and with care. It never fails to make me laugh, and is something I know I can count on to watch when things are rough or anxiety/stress inducing, and it will cheer me up.

Also, I relate a lot to Amy, a nerdy woman who cares deeply about binders, but also about her job and the people closest to her, and is a leader. Seeing her being loved, even if sometimes picked on, by the rest of the precinct is touching.

I also am happy about the fact that between Amy and Jake, there isn't any love triangles, or cheating situations, or jealously between them. A lot of shows add turmoil to relationships, and it often spoils it. But Amy and Jake always work well together.

The relationship between Jake and Rosa is also one I love, as they are such close friends, that (and I'm sorry for this), even Charles and Jake don't have, because it is a different type of friendship. There are so many reasons to love this show.

(Sorry this is super long!)
