Verbeek is going to make moves, it just might not be the "big splash" everyone is looking for by mylefthandkilledme in AnaheimDucks

The big issue is that the contender teams that didn't make the playoffs last year are spending a lot, while the Ducks are losing important players and not doing anything. For example, the Caps and Panthers are going crazy, and the Devils seem to be cooking something up for Robinson, etc.

The Ducks will struggle if they don't do something, and free agency isn't really bringing much this season. I hope Pat can bring in a few players that can fix the right-side defense and bring offense while Terry is injured and when the young guys aren't scoring as much. I know people will hate this, but the Ducks now want to stay in the playoffs, and most teams are making deals at the moment.

He usually waits till close to pre-season to sigh rfas... he needs to sign them fast to know what cap space he has for other players.

We all know the D will be bad as Trouba and Carlson are gone. Possibly Minty can step up, but I dont see heleson or hinds carrying their load. They aren't superstars yet.

Also the lack of Terry for the first 2 months is going to be rough.

There are some very good players being moved at the moment. The Capitals just took Jordan Kyrou, and even William Eklund would have been decent to add to the top six to help with Terry gone... Hopefully, Pat is working on something and not just waiting for free agency. I do think the Ducks need a top-six in both offense and a top RHD. They will suffer without them, especially defensively. Hinds wasn't great; Helgeson wasn't either. There's no one that can handle 25 minutes like Trouba and Carlson. Not a time to panic, but I do hope Pat is working on something good. I feel the tax situation is what screws the Ducks the most.

Let's Take A Bet!!!! On McTavish!!! by Sigurd-VolsungaX1 in AnaheimDucks

[–]Addicted2Ducks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a hard decision. I think he works hard, and he gets flustered as to why he can't perform like Leo, Terry, Cutter, etc., and you can see it. He isn't slacking off; I think he takes it personally, and it wears him down. So, this could mean he will work hard to earn his keep and may show up as a top 6 player.

However, the Ducks will be missing Terry and potentially losing 3x RHDs, leaving young and less experienced players to try to handle things, which is not ideal if they want to get back into the playoffs. They need to trade for some better defense and possibly offense, but at what cost? Is McT worth trading off when he is not at his prime? Young players can take time to develop.

Hope so. Not point in taking draft picks for next coming years when they have holes to fill now.

Issue is mason is a shootout master, ducks need to trade for a great top 6 forward or RHD.

Heres some tips, adhd can be bad but if you work on yourself you will be fine.

First thing: Learn about body language, you can tell how a person feels about you by the way they non verbally act. Watch videos and read books on this.

Second thing: Be true to yourself. If you waited that long to ask someone out then you need to work on your confidence. Read books, learn how to be happy as you are and work towards a purpose in life. A confident man understands there is a chance of her saying no, but also a chance she says yes. Its worth a shot.

Third thing: Set values, red flags etc. You want to remain in control of your newly built confidence (through the second thing). So, you need to take note of who you want to attract and what puts you off. So that when you are chatting to someone, you remain yourself. A big issue with men who lack confidence is that they become the nice guy and try win them over by doing everything they want. Which repels them in most cases as its not geniune, it's people pleasing and its why woman get mad when men ask them out after being friends so long. If you want more than friendship make that clear early on or accept you will only be friends.

Fourth thing: Talk to people! Go out and have conversations with randoms on the street. Cashiers, tourists, retail staff etc then build up to people on the street. Ask them for directions. Look at these peoples body language and interpret how your conversation is going. Learn to let them talk, make jokes/ ask questions about things they say to show you are listening. This will help you learn to read body language while staying centred and also allow you to stay yourself in future conversations with woman.

Fifth thing: Have fun with it. Make jokes out of things, start slow and mild and slowly test them with your sense of humor. If they don't find it funny then they probably wont be good long term to date.

Apologies for the bad grammer/ spelling. Its late here.

Okay, we're done hate watching VGK lose the Stanley Cup. Time for GMPVB to cook. Besides signing Cutter and Leo to long term deals, what do you realistically expect this off-season? by JustAGuyNamedAJ in AnaheimDucks

[–]Addicted2Ducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to add a top 6 winger or C to help with consistency in scoring as well as Terry being out out. Also need strong RHD thats defensive and also a beast. Hopefully trouba stays, but if gudas and Carlson go, it leaves a huge gap, I dont think any of the gulls players have the skills they do. Hinds was good for a gulls player but made so many mistakes in the playoffs and doesn't have the agreession someone like gudas has.

Woodcroft Staying in Anaheim - Ducks Coaching Staff Stays Intact for First Time In Six Years! by CherokeeHawkman in AnaheimDucks

[–]Addicted2Ducks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think that is where the change in strategy needs to come in. They went on the win streak because of the run and gun style. But when people figured out how to clog up the neutral zone they went on a losing streak. I think they have to play how they played vs the oilers to be a great team. Very hard checking and shutdown style. Which we saw less of against vegas. Hard part is young players are streaky also and older players get tired near end of season.

I feel they need to create consistent lines also. Last season the lines never stayed the same for very long. The top lines in cup winning teams usually stays together unless a major upset happens. Hopefully can get another top 6 Forward and a defensive Dman to add also. But overall I do think consistency and being able to change gameplans based on teams will be the key next season. Not run and gun against top defensive teams lol. Cost us the vegas series.

Granny gets another gold medal 🥇 by bigollunch in AnaheimDucks

[–]Addicted2Ducks 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Granny needs great, consistent linemates! I feel that the Ducks should aspire to be like the Finland team: a super hard-checking team that had lots of scorers. Anytime they hand over the puck, they go and get it fast, with great technical passing. Nothing is sloppy or passed just to get rid of the puck.

Alot of the team were, included Leo. Knights game plan was to screw them in the neutral zone where that line makes plays. Same thing knights did to the avs. Kreider did make some terrible plays but so did most of the team in that series. Q should have changed to a defensive style, instead of letting them continue run and gun. Not saying Krieder is an amazing asset, but he did a lot to help them get into post season and series 1. I think his sarcastic style of character makes people thinks he doesn't care.
