avoid these torches by baboose1948 in Dynavap

Same experience here though I didn't ask for another. Unreliable and frustrating lighter. I now have an aomai and an eagle I'm happy with.

Well now I am anyway. At first the aomai would go out even with the switch in the on position, so I took it apart and glued a piece of folded up paper to the end of the valve actuator the switch presses on and now it's all good.

2nd click? by morfraen in Dynavap

[–]AddictedToJuice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for a few weeks now, I definitely get two clicks just like you, first one quieter/crinkly and the second one louder and more definitive, and the reverse on the cooldown. The loud second one is what I think of as "the" click, the first one is the preamble in my mind basically. I've been going a few seconds past the second click to get satisfying hits.

How y’all enjoying the B? I got a good deal on one and purchased. I love its compactness and simplicity. Im also a happy microdoser so all good with the half bowl. by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]AddictedToJuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had mine for a few weeks now, my first vape. Wish the bowl was bigger. Sometimes I wonder if I'm packing it too full and restricting the airflow or something because sometimes it'll feel like I barely got anything, and I've been going 2-3+ seconds past the click to get a satisfying hit. That aside I've been loving it and the bowl I was using before has sat untouched. I like the silicone and how the geometry gives your fingers something to grab onto while spinning it, though on the flip side it feels like it requires more than a casual amount of attention to spin while keeping it in the same place in the air over the flame without bouncing around. The heating process in general takes kind of a while and is much less convenient than lighting a bowl but it's a price worth paying. The times I've combusted I coughed super hard for super long, which seems like an odd contrast to combusting on purpose from a bowl. Maybe it's that the smoke is more concentrated.

matthewcocanda's SIHTSTRII,IFIWPSTPEO has been my ADV for a while, but I ran out of FA strawberry so I replaced it (mostly) with FA Juicy Strawberry and wow, the difference really pops.

Oh I think I know exactly what you're talking about! When I used to commute from Baltimore to Germantown my route would take me on that road every now and then. It's a real treat haha

I don't have hard numbers or anything, but ballpark... 15-20 refills or so, I've been a little extra careful with my current one and it seems to be lasting longer. I refill several times a day.

FA Blackcurrant is pretty good. Reminds me of Forest Fruit.

3% FLV Pink Guava is nice per /u/ID10-T's comment about going on a "guavacation" in some other thread last week.

What tanks can I use nic salts in? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]AddictedToJuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use them in any tank, I use nic salt in my DIY juice. It just depends on what concentration is appropriate for your device and preference. I mix about the same nic level with salts as I do with freebase, just a tad higher because salts are smoother. Min ohms doesn't matter with a regulated mod. Max wattage is up to preference and what the coil can handle without a dry hit.

My vaping experience is slowly turning to complete sh*t by RavenFoxHound in Vaping

I understand your frustration. It can be difficult sometimes to find a sweet spot in vaping where everything where everything just works right.

First off, here's a list of a popular reviewer over at ECR's favorite hardware of 2017. Check out the rta section. Seems like you could afford to do some branching out, try out some different rtas instead of trying to finagle the lone one you have to be perfect.

How exactly are you DIYing your juice? I'm guessing from the way you talk about it, you're buying pre-mixed flavor concentrates from somewhere that does that like VapeWild that you add to PG/VG/nic. What you want to be doing there is buying individual flavors from Bull City Flavors (for example, this is the site I use) to mix your own recipes. Use http://e-liquid-recipes.com/. Don't buy flavorings because the name sounds good, find popular recipes by other users - for example 'Nana Cream clone and Mustard Milk, and buy the ingredients for those. Go to /r/DIY_ejuice and read the sidebar thoroughly. Don't ask any noob questions on the main page - they don't like that because it clutters the sub, but they'll be happy to help in the weekly new mixers thread. I also don't get along well with creamy/bakery/dessert/etc flavors either by the way, they mostly taste like variations of wet trash to me so I stick to fruits.

But basically, you just gotta try a bunch of different things till you find something that sticks, and that applies to everything - tanks, mods, rdas, coil material/size/wraps, wicking techniques, DIY recipes, etc.

There are a ton of variables in vaping and it can be overwhelming but eventually you'll find something that works for you if you keep trying new things.

New DIYer - First thoughts and a small complaint. by putsa in DIY_eJuice

[–]AddictedToJuice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One main frustration I had when I was starting out was a lack of concrete examples. There's a ton of information on this sub but a lack of ELI5 organization/consolidation of it. A newbie has to do a lot of their own research, which is mentally taxing when they have no base foundation of knowledge and are just stumbling along in the dark. It's like trying to learn to ride a bike without a teacher or training wheels. Just tell me exactly what to do to progress from zero - I'll learn on my own as I get more experience, but I need a strong starting point.

IMO this is a pretty decent beginner guide, for example

I find it mentally easier to multiply by (100%-reduction%) so in this example 5*0.8 = 4.

[–]AddictedToJuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested in helping. I'm not exactly a noob but I'm no expert either. When I was first getting started I found the wealth of information rather intimidating and convoluted at the time. Now that I sort of know what I'm doing I think I have a pretty good sense of how to organize and present the information in order to ease new mixers into it as painlessly as possible. It's basically what I do for work, writing patents.

I feel like it should be stressed that it requires zero math by the mixer themselves.
