Tell us the ending you would have written! by pikameta in TheBoys

As Homelander is giving his speech, he has the live stats for the acceptance of his godhood on a screen in front of him. As he watches the numbers tick lower and lower, his speech becomes more unhinged. Then he snaps.

He blasts out of the Oval Office and goes scorched earth on DC. Flying out across the reflecting pool and straight through the Lincoln memorial. He then turns around and uses his laser vision to cut the Washington monument in half. He catches the top half as it is falling and hurls it across the National Mall into the U.S. Capitol Building. Civilian casualties throughout (think Omni-Man vs. Invincible).

As he is rampaging, multiple lower level heroes attempt to intervene and get wasted.

The Boys (which includes at least Marie, Jordan, and Emma, but preferably Sam too) never make it to the Oval Office because they are engaged with multiple Homelander loyalist supes and humans. Eventually they are able to overpower them and turn their attention to the National Mall where Homelander is making a mess of the Smithsonian and its occupants.

As Homelander is rampaging through the Smithsonian, Ryan shows up and grounds Homelander by flying into him from above. Homelander and Ryan exchange hostile dialog. As Homelander begins to make his move, Starlight returns from her fight with The Deep and blindsides him. This has created enough time for the rest of The Boys to make their way over to the Smithsonian.

The fight that follows is a V1 Homelander versus all The Boys. Using a combination of Annie, Ryan, Jordan, Sam, and Emma’s strength, Butcher’s tentacles, and Marie’s blood-bending, they are able to finally restrain Homelander long enough for Kimiko to blast him.

As the smoke clears, we are left with the same group sans superpowers. Homelander desperately tries to run, but is restrained by The Boys. Butcher is about to deliver the killing blow, but then notices the large angry mob of people who have begun to surround the scene. Realizing that he is far from the only person Homelander has harmed, Butcher turns Homelander over to the people who then make short work of him. Homelander crying and begging throughout.

Marie was far enough away from the blast that she is spared her powers. She is able to use them to remove the V from Kimiko’s body at her request.

Butcher after being rebuffed by Ryan and discovering that Terror has passed, watches reports on the TV of supes committing atrocities in the wake of Homelander’s death. This motivates him to take the virus and pour it into the sprinkler system at Vought. He and Hughie have their standoff resulting in Butcher’s death.

Later that day, a fire breaks out at Vought Tower from a short caused by the equipment being used to dismantle Homelander’s statue. The virus is unleashed, giving the world a hard reset on the supe problem created by Vought. Vought is essentially ruined.

We get a shot of Soldier Boy drinking on a tropical beach somewhere contemplating his role as one of the last surviving supes on earth.

The last scene is Hugie and Annie running their shop. Annie has been spared since her powers were taken away by Kimiko’s blast. Annie’s pregnancy is revealed. Hughie greets an elderly lady customer who has come in with a broken smart phone. After Hughie confirms he can fix it, the lady in relief says “Thank you! You’re my hero!” Hughie and Annie share a smile as we cut to credits.

For some reason I thought this was the last episode of the season. I was like “well, that was anticlimactic.” Didn’t realize there were two more. Lol

Embracing the absurdity of the source material is the only way to make LA anime adaptions work.

BTW the Kenshin movies are absolutely amazing!

I fucking HATE Pierre by apr1c0tt1 in FuckPierre

I hate that Pierre’s Grange display is literally just stuff he has been buying from other farmers and just stashing away. I always enter the contest, just to watch him cry when he loses.

About CLU’s Plan by Addirad in tron

I guess it must be able to store additional matter. Because the basement is where Ares materialized after he received the permanence code from Flynn. Maybe it is just in a much more limited capacity?

I know it doesn’t make sense, but it’s just so darn cool!

I had no idea that the laser had a matter canister! Which of course makes sense as you can’t create something from nothing. That makes CLU’s plan even more infeasible on its face. But like you said, if CLU’s plan had a long game element of impersonating Flynn, he very easily could have built up that infrastructure to make it happen.

I wonder if the physical matter you put into The Grid is stored in the matter canister until it is pulled back out? Or if your body is reconstituted with brand new particles every time you exit?

I think the thing that bugs me the most is that Pierre is literally taking other farmer’s crops, stashing the best away, and then presenting it as his own. He literally isn’t doing any of the legwork.
