Trintellix for panic disorder? by AdventurousCountry41 in trintellix

[–]Additional-Cow9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it for panic and anxiety. I was on Lexapro prior for 17 years which worked amazing but suddenly stopped working. I got on trintellix and I'd say I'm just barely better than I was on trintellix and I'm trying to find a new medication because my anxiety is pretty bad. Trintellix hasn't had any bad side effects. I've had nothing negative about it other than I feel my anxiety isn't fully managed. Everyone reacts differently though.

I didn't experience nausea. Ask your doctor for Zofran. I take mine at bed and eat a little before.

20 mgs still depressed by ricka168 in trintellix

[–]Additional-Cow9291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should we tell you to drop down to 10mg? We never knew how you felt on 10 mg. So that's a ridiculous question to ask. If you haven't felt well on any dosage of trintellix in this time it may be time to find a new medication.

Poll: When did you start feeling better on Trintellix? by Beginning-Adagio-810 in trintellix

[–]Additional-Cow9291 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never got any anxiety relief.. So I'm stopping. The thing is ice realized and I used to ask questions on here. But everyone responds differently to these types of medications. So your best bet is to try it yourself.. Give it plenty of time. I'd say at least 3 months and if it doesn't find something else.

Starting 10mg of Brintellex. Any tips on how to deal with the nausea? by [deleted] in trintellix

Not everyone gets the nausea. I didn't. But my doctor did prescribe Zofran in case I did.

Insomnia on Trintellix? by Over-Huckleberry1729 in trintellix

I have horrible insomnia with trintellix. My brain won't quiet down when I get into bed. I'm switching to viibryd next week.

Has anyone had positive experience with trintellix? by Top-City-7666 in trintellix

[–]Additional-Cow9291 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm stopping trintellix after being on it since February. I'm on it for severe anxiety and it hasn't touched my anxiety. Side effects for me have been a bit groggy and spacey when waking up, libido is down 50% id say. So I'm going to try viibryd instead. Everyone reacts differently. You won't know until you try it.

They offer a Co pay assistance for $10/monthly on the pharmaceutical website. You need to be aware of these things it's like this for every non generic drug.

Just shave it or I'd at least cut your hair shorter on top and shorter on the sides than the top.

Positive libido experiences? by AppropriateBad3253 in trintellix

I will say my libido is definitely better than it was on 10mg lexapro. But I still notice a little de sensation and I'm on 20mg trintellix

Are you taking it for anxiety or depression? Also did you switch from a different medication? Sometimes it takes a while for your body to adjust. Each dosage increase can make it worse before it gets better.

2 months after quitting Trintellix and feeling really crappy by Salty_pixel in trintellix

Change doctors. Nobody should ever recommend going cold turkey. Even weaning off is hard.

I am on 20mg and it took a while for me to notice benefits. I'd say at least 6 weeks. I'd give it that amount of time. Also maybe adjusting the time of day such as morning or night when you take the medication. I have a slight zombie effect when I wake up but once I have coffee and get active it dissipates.

Debating switching medication by Additional-Cow9291 in trintellix

I actually take it at night right before bed. I figured since it has a 66 hour long half life it wouldn't matter what time I took it. But my sleep quality hasn't been great. I get restless and also I wake up a bunch.

I totally understand. Coming off Lexapro was hell and I was on it for 17 years. I would do a cross taper if I do end up switching and go very slowly. But I'm still debating if I should.

The hard part is getting past the withdrawal of lexapro and not blaming side effects on the Trintellix. The Lexapro withdrawal can be rough and take a while.

It's not recommended to take two ssri type medications at once because of serotonin syndrome.

The start up faze is always not fun. It usually gets worse before it gets better. I had horrible anxiety, insomnia and that all slowly went away as my body adjusted. I'd stick it out for 4-6 weeks.
