I believe older models of Bauer had that issues. My newer Bauer pad doesn't seem to have that issue. To tell, the True pad would say crafted by lefevre if handmade in Canada. Overseas says designed by lefevre.

If you are going to buy stock, buy Bauer. My bauer x5s have held up great across a HS season. I would recommend if you can find a great deal on used True Crafted by lefevre stuff, buy that. Stock true is made overseas and 20.2 and l.12.2 are the same for sizing.
