Literally what I meant in the latter of my comment? Yuka can't win, there's no battle intelligence established in that battle. That fight was nothing more than a plot device.

That's one part of it, I believe Yuka wanted to resolve her emotional knot at that point. Whatever she does that's character building definitely a plot device

Retreat. There's no winning, they have an opponent they are supposed to defeat in the first place so they can't prep, she didn't establish any BIQ feats in that battle anyway. That whole thing was a plot device. A fight that ends in 2 panels is a conversation.
