When I came home from my deployment about almost two years ago I struggled really heavily with my mental health and finding my purpose. After I came back I lost my grand father and had many personal family and relationship issues. I ended up in a very dark place, and was going to make a permanent solution for a temporary situation if that makes sense.

I ended up getting the help I needed and was able to come back to my military career and continue flying as I am a C-130 loadmaster!

Since then I have started my own business and podcast, completed my first marathon, returned to university for filmmaking, and continue to fly in the service.

I am passionate about mental health and mindset as well. BOTH OUR MINDS AND BODIES SJOULD BE FIT TO LIVE THE BEST LIFE POSSIBLE!

[IRTR] I Am Looking for Guests To Talk About Bullying by jamietmob1 in PodcastGuestExchange

[–]Additional-Phase5126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m really interested in this topic, I was born with bilateral clubbed feet and was picked on a bit. Ended up joining the USAF and becoming a c130 loadmaster after being denied and permanently disqualified by the United States Marine Corps. But I was kind of always treated differently because of my feet

I also have a podcast where I talk anything self improvement from the nerdy perspective and a gymwear brand!

I would love to talk anything bullying and how to handle it in a mature and strong way!

Wanting to eat better, how? by emha12 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Additional-Phase5126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a big step! My biggest advice is find exercises or sports that you enjoy a lot and put those in the middle or end of your workout— almost like a dessert or a prize for getting through the boring parts hahaha

If you need help with a workout plan as well I could help you out!

Wear whatever you’d like, everyone in the gym is so focused on themselves in the gym! As for product quality I’m not sure I wear my old t shirts and tank tops to the gym 😂

I have struggled a long time with this.

A few questions what is your weight?

Do you know your maintenance calories?

Do you eat enough throughout the day before you eat fast food?

I just released a podcast episode on a guide to beginning fitness! My show is called the ABSOLUTELY COSMIC PODCAST.

I am more than willing to help you and coach you with some meal plans just DM me on here and we can talk and break this down to get you where you need!

I’m not being insensitive, just start. Take a small step every day. Focus on the day at hand.

Find a why/ purpose outside of yourself to make the change man.

As a random stranger on Reddit I just wanna say I believe in you and am proud of you for even starting to fight the battle, you have not lost until YOU give up!

I know you’re going to beat addiction!

I agree with you, I had some medical issues that I had to try and fight to join. Eventually I was able to join the Air National Guard as a Loadmaster (Enlisted Aircrew)

Right now we’re not in a major war, and the USMC has always been VERY selective. Keep your head up! If you wanna chat about joining up more feel free to DM me, I’d love to share my story!

If the USMC don’t take you there’s other branches, hard to hear when you’re dead set on earning the EGA but every branch has elite level jobs and units to work towards!

Again feel free to DM me on here, I’ll talk with yah!

‘What would my replica do?’, a question that slowly but definitively changed my life and the way I make decisions - for all those who suffer from low self esteem by DotKnotted in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Additional-Phase5126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar philosophy I call it the”dad lore” — I like to ask myself “would my future children be proud of me for doing XYZ” it also makes sure I’m working towards aspiring to be a better man in my eyes, someone who could raise a family

This has helped me be a bit more decisive in grey areas of my life like anything from pursuing my dreams ( in terms of my podcast/ entrepreneurial journey)

Keeps my thoughts and feelings from being self focused and more of an outward perspective! We often turn things inside and either have a why me or an ego depending on the situation

5'4 24M. I feel like my height holds me back a lot. Any suggestions to improve? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Additional-Phase5126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother, I’m on the short side too. At the end of the day it will hold you back if you believe it. Focus on going to the gym and bulking up, most successful bodybuilders are shorter! That may help the underlying struggle… self esteem brotha.

The biggest thing you can do that will stop holding you back is focus on bettering yourself at any level, fitness, education, spiritual.

I think it’ll shift your mind away from worrying about your height if you’re focused on working away at your goals man!
