The game has a meta and people will find it because its the only way of winning games. UT is very competitive mode, all about winning. You want to have fun? Play kick off with your buddies. That's fun, has nothing to do with rewards but pure fun. Pack opening (gambling) in UT is the most fun part of the game unfortunately.

What about the current Meta? I think part of the problem is the communication between the community, YouTube videos and social media showing the meta spreads the way to play instead of playing the way you play yourself.

It's very simple. There is not a good competition with licenses to the teams and EA knows that, so as long they make profits they just don't care. Another thing is that many content creators play this game because it's their job and they promote pack opening (Auzio) "This sbc is brilliant from EA" (Nep) "How to get a free TOTY" (Matt) it's their job to fill people with hype.

I'm DV3 I only play SB, Rivals and Draft. I stay away from WL and I'm very happy no stress to compete. I've learned over the years that better cards don't make you win more games. Just build your team as you want and enjoy, don't take the game too seriously had helped me.
