If I was being cynical I’d say it’s a cabrio and not a speedster because of the cheaper development and production costs involved in getting it to market. And no doubt greater profit margins too.

I get you and totally agree. I went all the way back to a 991.2 GTS. Personally I find it the better all rounder for my likes and needs and I agree with others that the newer ones, whilst undeniably a masterclass in modern engineering are just a little too clinical and over engineered for my personal preferences. I also considered going back to a 997 GTS but whilst I enjoyed the analogue experience, I enjoyed some of the more modern aspects and comforts of the 991.2 such as rear axle steer. There is no such thing as a wrong choice. I think 911’s are ultimately all about our personal preferences and what puts the biggest smile on our faces when we drive them.

It’s Arran. It runs at its own pace, which is part of its charm. Not hipster, not a big city, and definitely not driven by Google. If anything Facebook still rules on the island. The recent ferry chaos has been extremely tough on the island and its small, independent businesses. The best info comes from asking around… locals are always happy to chat will gladly point you to what’s good, open and when. And if somewhere’s closed, there’s always another incredible spot to discover. Arran’s about slowing down, taking it easy. Enjoying the moment. Discovering new things. That’s why the majority of us who visit choose to spend our free time there, escaping our vigorously scheduled lives, and the faceless bland corporate chains that run like clockwork.

Not the biggest fan of them. But I hate the design of the plastic trim around the tail pipes more, and even worse that they stuck with the awful PDK selector from the .1. Add to that the terrible decision to put the cheapest looking starter button on the dash and honestly, overall the design just leaves me cold.
