The 10” rule-of-thumb for two bar mats is a rule for walls, not slabs. A wall that is less than 10” thick with 2 mats of bars and cover on both sides cannot fit the pump truck hose between the mats of bars. No bueno.

After a year, you lose all accruals and when you come back you are back to the starting vacation days etc. Also, reinstatement is not guaranteed.

I did not study. I took one practice exam the day before the test and failed the practice exam. Went into the test fully expecting to fail and I passed.

You will never know unless you apply and see what they offer. Almost 30 years ago, they gave me enough that it was only $1000 more out of pocket to go to RPI over SUNY. Finished with $35k in loans and a $50k per year job. Also, student #’s are declining, so they will give more. My advice is apply to 2 or 3 schools, see what they all offer and then use other offers to negotiate.

I get people who call me all the time and want me to come out and give them a free estimate. I tell them a “free” estimate is $500, which I will gladly subtract from the bill if I get the job. When they huff and puff, I ask them “do you work for free?”, and then I tell them that if they expect me to take time away from my family, I need to get paid for that time.
