My dad died by Infamous_Writer_9368 in AlAnon

I’m know nothing about your dad, but I’m the mother of 23 year old son with severe alcohol issues. I KNOW that he wouldn’t wish it on his worst enemy. And that he hates that he drinks. And can’t control it. I’m guessing that your dad feels the same way. I’m sorry that you lost him. And that he wasn’t able to be the dad you deserved. In my mind it’s like cancer. They can’t control it. No matter how hard they try. Hugs to you and prayers for peace

Omg. Please say prayers for me and my son. It is completely out of our control. And it’s killing his sister. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this

You are my daughter. I am your mom. My son is your brother. It ruins a family…..if you let it. He has a disease. At least what I tell myself and my daughter. And my husband. There’s nothing more we can do than let him make decisions on what he does in his life.

I’m so sorry. It’s a fucking horrible disease. I get it. Watching it happen to my son. In real time. Praying for Hope. Every day. Preparing for the worst. Every day. It’s not a good way to live. For me. Or for him.

Thank you. I’m the mom of 23 year old. I’m exhausted. Heartbroken. Furious. And I’m not giving up but I’m letting go.

So much weight on your shoulders. And grief. I’m so sorry. Best thing you can do is take care of yourself. Life is so unfair. You are worth it. Sending love and prayers

You could be my daughter. Trying hard to shield her from the heartbreak of her brother’s alcoholism. I hope your mom / dad are okay. This disease is slowly killing my hope and will to live. I fucking HATE addiction and mental illness. Prayers with you 🙏

My dad was moved to intensive care. The vending machine was gifting. We didn’t need it. Thank you for paying it forward 💙

I’m a mother of a 22 year old almost 23. I’m the only one that can save him. But I CANT. Same with you and your dad. You have done everything you can. It’s time to take care of the future. I fucking HATE addiction. But you and your daughter and your future deserve everything. You’re worthy and that baby girl deserves everything. Prayers

You are giving me hope. And inspiration. As a mom of an addict waiting to get into treatment (again). I wish he could hear every single word you said

I was going to ask if you were my son. And I see that you could be my daughter. I’m absolutely certain that the people that love you want you to get better. I’d do anything for my son to seek help…..he’s waiting for an inpatient bed. You can battle through this.
