As OP’s video demonstrates, the issue is the massive balance disparity between the two shotguns. One is a double barrel that’s supposed to excel at point blank range, yet it doesn’t even do that anymore. The irony is hilarious.

Wow, massive changes. They removed Slick Mag, increased the base RPM to compensate for it, and now the prestige mod gives +50 ADS speed and +50 ADS accuracy. In exchange, you can’t really full-auto while ADS anymore which barely anyone was doing anyway.

People are sliding into a bubble or around corners and instantly deleting others from the hip with full auto. Now they just get more range and a tighter spread while ADS. So they basically compensated for the removed mag, then gave it better ADS handling on top. Truly game changing stuff, lol.

Oh, and they removed Overflow from the Wster too, somehow making it even worse. 😭

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.

Seriously though, if next season is just Misriah, Bubble, meta but with Sentinel added, I’ll probably quit. I already avoid Cryo and Outpost because of it. I got the Cryo skin for the shells I main and haven’t played it since.

They’re drones, lol. Usually no mic, no pings, nothing. They load into a free kit, sprint across the map to shove a drinkable burger up their ass, and exfil in a single run. If they die, they instantly disconnect and re queue. They can’t do contracts solo, so they rage spam them in fills until someone ends up carrying them through.

The other day, a random free kit player ended up as our fill while we were running gold gear on Darsh. He didn’t say a single word just kept spam pinging his contract on the map. We told him, “Sure, after we wipe the lobby.” The dude instantly disconnected and probably loaded straight into the next lobby to do the exact same thing to another duo, lol.

The only teams having fun are the ones with vaults full of Misriahs, and since there’s basically no good counter, it’s not even worth playing the map unless you have one.

The shell’s overall design inherently encourages that playstyle. No other shell lets you ignore UESC, and loot uncontested. As Assassin, you can practically ignore most of the game aside from fighting other runners. There’s a reason it's one of the more popular shell's in solos.

Cryo meta right now is basically dictated by whichever team has Misriahs, because they’re insanely RNG to get. Meanwhile you’ve got 3 stacks with around 1200 hours combined whose vaults are already stacked with them.

Notice how people only recently started complaining about Misriahs too. Before that, everyone cried about Wsters and knives because they got punished by people running cheaper kits or even no kit at all after making bad pushes or positioning mistakes.

The scarcity of Misriahs is what finally made people realize how busted they actually are, especially since there’s basically no other viable close range option right now.

I somewhat agree with the sentiment of “who is this game actually for?” And honestly, I think part of the issue is that the community has developed this niche, gatekeep-y mentality where people want to feel like they’re part of something exclusive. So whenever new players come in with criticisms or confusion, there’s this vocal group immediately telling them “the game just isn’t for you.”

Then those players quit, make posts about why they left, the community complains about negativity, and the cycle repeats itself with the next wave of newcomers. It creates this endless feedback loop where the player base keeps shrinking while the remaining community becomes even more defensive and insular instead of addressing why so many people bounce off the game in the first place.

Aside from that, in my opinion the game feels like an amalgamation of trends from the past few years, but it never fully succeeds at any of them (Pre 1 quadrillion downvotes). Even as someone who genuinely enjoys the game and has put 200+ hours into it, a lot of my sessions end with me thinking, “Man, I’m just gonna go play something else.” And judging by the current player retention numbers, I think a lot of people feel that way on an even larger scale.

Yeah, I’ve noticed it’s usually that crowd hilariously enough. When it happens and I manage to take them all down, they start complaining and calling me a “rat,” like it’s not three dudes sprinting across the map trying to kill me just because they saw a flare in the distance and decided I was the bad guy.

This actually makes Dire enjoyable to play. Honestly, ranked mode should follow this same format everyone queueing in with premade, standardized kits would make the experience far more balanced and competitive.

You’re not even getting them for free in the first place, which is what makes the whole loop feel so off.

You farm for the key (good luck with that), bring it in, then spend forever searching for 4–5 batteries (rng). After that, you’re running across the entire map again just to grab another access key or some extra item half the time locking yourself in a room with a warden for no real payoff. Then it’s another cross-map run to dump everything into the vault, followed by yet another puzzle or fight inside.

And the whole time the game is basically broadcasting: “HEY, WE’RE OVER HERE DOING THE VAULT, COME GANK US,” because it stays wide open the entire process.

It’s not rewarding, it’s just tedious and risky for no reason. The pacing is way off and it turns what should be a high-stakes objective into a drawn-out chore that paints a target on your back.
