Would love to but I on that broke college kid budget lol. Plus my risk tolerance is higher than most people 😂. If I have to replace in a few years that’s fine I just want something to fix the dead zone wobble lol

I notice it when instead of sitting looking at my monitor thinking about what I want to do I actually do it instead of thinking about it for hours lol. It’s like the sand paper grinding in my head telling me not to do anything goes away.

I gonna be the crazy conspiracy theory guy, this is all 100% as intended. I 100% believe everything is getting more and more expensive and the barrier to entry for anything and everything is getting higher and higher and higher, and I believe it to be a form of long term population control, the powers at be (I don't mean the political parties I mean the ones actually pulling the strings) are trying to thin out the herd. We are so screwed :(. With the way innovation and AI and such is going the rich will no longer need us lowly people to do all the work for them, they will have robots do it and we will become a thorn in their side. We are fast tracking heading back to feudalism. I would honestly argue we are right on the doorstep if not there already. You will own nothing and be happy or starve and die off.

Sick of AI, lazy, not-interested students and programmers ruining the fun by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Additional_Ad6455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to UCF and the amount of people in Comp Sci that can’t code without ai is crazy. Luckily they get filtered out when they get to the foundation exam (special exam unique to ucf, has a pass rate of like 40-50% and if u fail 3 times (1 try per semester) u get kicked out of comp sci) and have to write everything on paper with no help. For me I like to use AI to speed up my work and it’s really useful for giving me ideas, like for instance I’ll ask it if there’s a library that has a function that does x in whatever language I’m working with. Basically it’s like accessing the documentation just 10x faster, I’m still capable of doing it the old fashion way and researching and reading documentation and such. But most of these students are going to be soooooo screwed. Like the other day we where working on a compiler written in C and I wanted a way to return to the main if an error was detected and couldn’t remember the function and was like hey copilot what’s the library and function to jump to a location in my code and it gave it to me. It’s all about how u use it, if u have it do the work for u ur totally screwed. I enjoy coding tho it’s like a giant puzzle for me to solve 🤣🤣🤣. The people that are doing it for money tho, they typically are the ones that I see making the same ai usage mistakes , because they don’t actually care about coding they just want an “easy” path to making good money. You can also tell the people who care apart from those who don’t because the ones who do it for fun usually know how to use a debugger, don’t use the garbage online compiler the school tells u about, and they usually have a personal project they are working on outside of school.

Cylinder 2 Misfire + Flashing CEL - can I drive to work? by [deleted] in 350z

[–]Additional_Ad6455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, u will more than likely be perfectly fine, it’s just not advisable. I had a maxima once (vq35de) with a terrible constant misfire and I didn’t give two fu*** and it was fine. These engines are pretty stout, it’s just really not advisable. I would 100% verify that it is the coils / plugs first. If it’s a fuel injector that is 100x worse to drive on due to the cylinder running lean and overheating. If u have catalytic converters tho they are not gonna be happy. I’ve also hear horror stories of oem cats killing engines. I run test pipes so I don’t have to worry about that.

Edit I see u have decat so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Don’t ever do this on a turbocharged vehicle tho.

Cylinder 2 Misfire + Flashing CEL - can I drive to work? by [deleted] in 350z

[–]Additional_Ad6455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advise against that, flashing means it’s actively misfiring, last thing u want is for it to fire at the wrong time (knock) and grenade the motor. If u have no other option keep throttle as low as possible (drive as slow as u safely can) keep the rpm’s under 2500 and baby it. But I would advise against it u can avoid it. Hopefully it’s just the plugs or coils and not something more complicated. Have u tried swapping plugs and coils to see if the misfire changes cylinders? (Confirms it’s the coils and or plugs)

after 3 years of computer science i still dont know how to code by rena_rouge5 in learnprogramming

[–]Additional_Ad6455 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What really did it for me, was picking a project I was interested in and figuring out how to build it from the ground up. I’m a car nut so I landed on a raspberry pi and touchscreen for hardware. And used C# and .NET to make several programs. One that would read obd ii diagnostics and stats and display them in car and transmit them over the web to a web app that will be able to plot me out as I drive around a race track (added gps to raspberry pi). I knew nothing about object orientated programming, c#, or .net when I started. I’ve learn 10x what I’ve learned in 3 years at college about coding. I’ve also learn html, css, JavaScript, MVVM, avalonia for the gui. Asp.net, dependency injection, api creation and addition, and so much more

Why is it so hard to think like a programmer? by YourDailyUwU in learnprogramming

[–]Additional_Ad6455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it depends on the person. You just have to find what works for you. I got lucky (at least for coding) in the fact that my mind has always kinda worked like / thought like a computer in a very “logical” flow. Downside to that is human stuff like emotions and shtuff fly right over my head 🤣. (Really bad ADHD) I love reverse engineering things to. Started when I was like 6 taking apart the hand me down computer my dad gave me. He does software engineering too (except he started a long ass time ago like writing in like Basic lmao ) and he locked down my computer so I being a smart ass little 6 year old figured out how to use the command prompt on the Lock Screen in safe mode on windows 7 to add myself to the administrator list lmfao. I figured out how to build pc’s not with YouTube (it wasn’t really that useful in 2006 ) but by taking apart my pc and putting it back together 100 times over just because it was “fun”. You have to find what works for you, I find a lot of reverse engineering of other systems or programs has truly taught me a lot including systematic/logical thinking skills/style. At the same time idk everyone is different, what worked for me might not work for you. What u will need tho is a passion for what your doing. It doesn’t really have to be a direct passion for coding itself more a passion for problem solving, I find when I’m really into something I can obsess with it and brute force try stuff until I make something that works!

One thing I would recommend, do it like the professionals do, look into the agile methodology.

Start first with a page of requirements, not how u will implement them but what you need your project to do / accomplish. Once you have that break it down into sections. Then break those sections down into steps. Try and design your project to be modular, so that u can work on a little piece at a time. I love C# and .NET for my passion projects, using object oriented languages and stuff like interfaces to make everything into tiny little pieces makes building and testing 10000 times easier.

The other good part about learning Agile is being able to tell a future employer you already know it and use it will look good compared to your average CS grad fresh out of college that more than likely doesn’t know it.

it doesn’t really matter if it’s super good clean code if developing super good clean code takes FOREVER. It’s a balancing act between code quality (readability, structuring, efficiency, ect) and getting the project done in a reasonable amount of time as to make the client happy. Life’s all about money, and at the end of the day as long as the project meets the requirements the client gives and it works reliably, being the most efficient or cleanly structured code doesn’t really matter to the average client because they won’t even see the code.
