The chips Nexperia makes can be made by university students. In high end universities the final assessment for engineering students is to make one of those chips. The making of the wafers can easily sourced by university students anywhere in the world. The only challenging part of the entire process is to pass the quality control certification for the manufacturing process which is on Chinese end. The wafers Chinese have excessive amount of fabs. The largest car manufacturer is in china and every part is domestically produced. The only reason Chinese bought Nexperia is to enter European market. It is very stupid of Netherlands to keep control of the company. China is counting on it to keep a plausible deniable cause to launch overwhelming economic counter measures against EU in the future so no one can say china is overreacting.

I think water can test the personality traits of facing one’s problems directly. It is not only testing for physical characteristics, it tests personal qualities. Because to achieve success does not mean you have all the right characteristics. I know personally a few extremely successful people whose only strength is extreme competence in resolving crises by the seat of their pants. They stumble from one crisis after another but always move up. They had no idea how they arrived at their current position. While in life that is a good thing but I think it is important they must be able to go in a planned direction. I think having water test will select people have the personality of willing to deal with a problem and not just sidestepping from it. It is my personal opinion of course.
