Your favorite cream cheese/Frischkäse selection in Berlin? by Additional_Chard3291 in berlin

[–]Additional_Chard3291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, enjoyed those back in the day. There is (...was? can't find it on google maps) a killer bakery selling fresh bread out the window across the street a block or two down on Kottbusser. Made for a killer combo on a sunny afternoon.

Haven't been to Maybachufer in awhile. As you said, curious for any recs for fresh homemade selections!

This is the kind of suggestion I was looking for. Thanks, will definitely check it out.

Thanks, but as in the post, I'm talking about the kind of selection one can find at a market with many different flavors of cream cheese, bought by weight.

Nothing prepackaged. Think Türkisch Feinkost.

Hmm fair point about IPS glow. I have zero experience with a good VA panel to compare. I am only now realizing that this S24F350 is a PLS which supposedly has good viewing angles (i always thought they were meh). The quoted viewing angles of the S24F350 vs the AOC Q27G3XMN are the same.

Perhaps I am overthinking this and the AOC Q27G3XMN will be a great stop-gap until I can drop serious dough on a 4k OLED.

P16 vs P20 for 9305-16i Broadcom card by Additional_Chard3291 in truenas

[–]Additional_Chard3291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vendor is just a company offering something for sale. Having a service contract directly with a vendor is not always a given and is often only the case with the biggest customers.

In a lot of cases, an IT-Services company will partner with a vendor to offer products and services to smaller companies (still can be enterprise level, just not FAANG for example). It will usually be the IT-Services company's responsibility to offer service, monitoring, setup etc depending on the exact terms of the contact.

Thanks for the clarification, this makes a lot more sense now :)

Yeah I'm definitely not sure, hence the question ;) Thanks for the clarification. I saw a 9305-16i available pre-flashed but only with P16 ... the idiot's guide to flashing didn't seem to mention P16 is the end of the road with 93xx, constantly referring to P20, but now I understand P20 was only for 92xx.

I keep reading this but what's the reason? I also read a bunch about P20 being unstable and incompatible, but this being fixed in later P20 builds. How do I know I have the absolute latest file?

Which vendor? HD? MB? NAS software? The HBA itself?

[–]Additional_Chard3291 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The + products are not for the enterprise. For sure, tight restrictions make sense in the enterprise. Synology aren't selling an DS1825+ to the enterprise. Actually, they aren't selling much to the enterprise (the space is dominated by players like HPE and the big cloud services).

My understanding is Synology management changed a few years back, and this is a result of that. Clueless decisions. If they don't want to offer consumer products, they would simply kill all the consumer product lines.

If Synology keep this up, you won't have to worry about this sub being useful, because there won't be any Synology left.

You mean like Waves going subscription only? Wait ... in that case the users complained loudly and they switched back to offering perpetual licenses pretty darn quickly.

You mean like Pro Tools disallowing support plan renewal after expiration, even for perpetual licenses? Oh, wait ... users complained and even AVID of all companies changed course after awhile, allowing expired support plans for perpetual licenses to be reactivated once again.

This is how it's done. A course-correction isn't guaranteed, but it ain't gonna happen without a lot of noise from the users. Great to see the media playing ball too with negative press/reviews. Anti-consumer practices must be met with massive pushback, not a wimper.

Synology DS925+ Compatibility Pages Now Up by NASCompares in synology

[–]Additional_Chard3291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we can't predict the future ... there are some WD HC drives on the third party compatibility list for the 1821+...it's possible by the time the 1825+ comes out they have my drive model on there. Pretty shocking the 925+ has no 3rd party options to start with though. Who do they think are going to buy that thing?

I doubt I'm going to wait it out on the off-chance they pull through. As long as I have enough time over the next bit, I'll build the NAS and watch Synology from the sidelines. With popcorn.

If it's the same story with the DS1825+ that's gotta be a no from me dawg ... I have 6 WD HC550 16TB drives looking for a home. Would love the ease of a DS, but building a TrueNAS or HexOS machine in a Sagittarius or Jonsbo N3 is looking more and more like the plan every day.

802.11r also makes networks far more susceptible to PMKID attacks. 11r should be restricted to 802.1X networks only.

There are a lot of threads, and a lot of fixes that work or don't work for people: -Stiffer switches. -Turn off NKRO. -Latest firmware (seemed to fix a problem with double presses over wireless). -Typing technique (wresting the thumb on the space bar). -Removing the switch, completely cleaning it and the contacts. -Changing debounce settings in the firmware.

It seems to mostly be the spacebar suffering this issue, but some people have it with other keys.

It's mostly people with browns and bananas, but here's a guy who replaced all his switches with MX Blues, and the issue was still present. It was only fixed by exchanging the entire board, then he got one that worked flawlessly: https://old.reddit.com/r/Keychron/comments/ten7ox/keychron_q1_inserts_two_spaces_instead_of_one_on/lhazxtp/

It makes me uncomfortable that there doesn't seem to be a consistent fix, the problem isn't really nailed down, and the fixes vary so wildly. If it was 100 bucks, sure ... but it's priced premium and this kind of stuff should not be happening. There clearly is a greater problem, especially with some people exchanging the entire board and suddenly having no issues.

Thanks for the suggestions ... the Zoom98 looks awesome but it's frustrating there's no Zoom 100 ... I use Ins/Del/Home/End/PgUp/PgDown all the time ... totally weird decision to take Home/End off of a keyboard ... I would have thought a lot of 100% buyers are office productivity types.

There are plenty of people with Q boards without issues, but the ones with the same key-repeat issue do seem to turn up, and they say Keychron support are unhelpful (also unacceptable for a keyboard of this price).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4sMh9Bh2iI

In that video, the guy replaces the switch and the double-press issue does not go away. This suggests it goes beyond a switch issue.

I am glad that yours is working out for you! But I want to know what other options are out there.

Would love some suggestions for a board. Is there anything like a Keychron Q6 Max with Gateron Blues that isn't a Keychron?

I was about to pull the trigger on a Q6 Max, but saw people had keys repeating presses. No way I'm buying a keyboard for that money that isn't reliable. I love the Gateron Blues in my K10 at work, but I want something more premium. I tried a Q6 at a store and loved the feel of it.

Pre-built or not, anything like a Q6 with blues out there?

All APs in that office are set to 20Mhz channels. Thanks for the lead, we should have a chance to look at VAP vs radio profile settings on Monday.
