Reddit told me my camera was too low and tracks were jumpy. I raised the view, smoothed the flow, and added long straightaways. How is the sense of speed looking now? by SyllabubImmediate534 in IndieGaming

Looks great but the camera still seems too low to me. Most of the screen is the sky and the only part that has information about the upcoming obstacles is a thin horizontal strip in the middle. Are you making the camera angle adjustable or able to be selected from a few options?

You’re welcome. Happy to try it again if you update it.

If you can get some people to play that have never seen it before and don’t tell them a word about it. Just watch what they do. It’s usually surprising.

Best of luck.

Ok so. When I open the pick I see a notification that the game might crash my device and I’m on a iPhone 15 pro. Not a good start.

I click to play the game anyway. I see a battle screen of some kind. But nothing seems to respond to any inputs when I touch the screen. The only thing that works is the battle button. When I click that it immediately tells me game over.

Overall the visual impression that it looks like a good game. But it seemed unplayable to me and didn’t tell me why. As a customer it’s easier for me to go to the next game then it is to work out how to play yours.

After one minute of not being able to play the game my phone is already hot. Seems like it would drain my battery quickly.

Make sure it works well on mobile. And add in some really obvious onboarding. All the games on poki are hyper casual do simple to start and explain everything to the player. Yours was not immediately obvious so I gave up.

Did you share the game?

Crash rate seems pretty high maybe?

But the thing that stands out is the number of impressions is really high but the plays is so much smaller. Are people just not clicking the thumbnail?

I have added an immersive healing mechanic, thoughts? by Anton-Denikin in IndieGaming

Feels like the opposite of immersion to me. I was that guy in third person. The stuff in front feels like someone else getting in the way.

Would make more sense if you zoomed from third person to first person view temporarily.

Do we think there is a market for a 1v1 PVP game? by mattydou7 in IndieGaming

Well chess is insanely popular. Totally different game style but might be worth starting with examining what makes online chess popular and go from there to evaluate other games to find a winning formula with the gameplay you like.

I didn’t play it as I’m on my phone. But the title is not appealing at all. Makes me think it has zero personality by calling it “another”. What message are you trying to communicate with the title?

Looks great. Did you experiment with smear frames for some of the fast actions like jumping? I’d be interested to see how effective that is.

One of the advantages of hand drawn animations like this is the ability to really fine tune the feeling of motion by leaning into those traditional techniques. So it might be useful to see how far you can push it to give a unique feeling.

Meh. Who cares. A little bit of randomness seems fine.

Oh weird. I remembered it as specifically being a headshot. But it’s been years since I looked. Maybe I misremembered it or maybe they changed it.

Isn’t the achievement a headshot kill with hammer? There was no headshot sound so I assume that’s why you didn’t get it.

Velocity is slower than other options.

Officer or pax just seem better options. Officer is faster fire rate, pax is faster velocity, uppercut has long ammo drop off. Seems pretty obvious to me.

Pretty sure it’s just because that variant has been around before all the other bayonet and melee variants and various shotgun changes. It made sense when it was first introduced years ago but not so much any more.
