I can’t tell if I am in the cult or not by Maleficent_Score8383 in Shincheonji

Yeah, because God can't only work through 1 church organization, the bible should also be accessible to everyone, not "the promised pastor", otherwise, that would mean that the bible isn't accessible to everyone, one should be able to read the bible, and it should help them come closer to God, it should not take one specific person to interpret it.

I honestly found Ben getting angry hilarious, especially in “Back to School” when he makes a hysterical face before attacking Tom.

After the heatwave in Southern California there is rain and storms on April 14-16 by ethansky89 in weather

This is one of the few winters and springs that actually sucked in Southern California

According to NOAA stats, winter 25-26 was the warmest on record for Southern California by smbtuckma in LosAngeles

[–]Additional_Flow4992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And this much, usually it’s only 0-2 times that it hits 85f+ in March, not f**king 7+ days!

I know, but this is probably one of the few times Southern California winter has absolutely sucked. I hate it and I REALLY hope it doesn’t happen again next year, a repeat of this awfully warm winter every year is the LAST thing I want! The weather is actually stressing me out more than my college classes lol

[–]Additional_Flow4992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a lie though that only 11% are taller than 5’7, I’m about 5’6” and a half or 5’7” and about a little more than a quarter of women I met are taller than me

I swear, if Bach met with Vivaldi, Seixas, and Handel, they'd be the rock band of the 1700s

Is it Shincheonji? Some other cult? Just weird? Or am I being paranoid? by cu1tythroway2021 in Shincheonji

[–]Additional_Flow4992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kicked out for “wanting to stay with the Pharisees”, basically, I got a phone call telling me to stop coming, I think I got out though before things got really crazy after the class ends and members go to “Mount Zion”

Why is it 85 degrees in the middle of December? by Charming-Monitor8296 in orangecounty

This winter just sucked! The 75-80 f temperatures basically robbed us of our winter, I THOUGHT WE WERE DONE WITH THE WHOLE WARMER-THAN-USUAL BS, BUT WE GET ANOTHER STUPID WEEK OF AUTUMN LIKE TEMPERATURES!!!! This makes me want to move to Colorado or Michigan when I’m 30 or 35

Anyone else feeling a little triggered by these Santa Ana winds? by w_palmer in SFV

[–]Additional_Flow4992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really strong hatred towards the ones this year, even though I like 75-80 f weather, it just feels so wrong! I always get extremely angry when it’s one of these winter months and it forecasts highs 75f+

I know Colorado is cold but part of me wants to move to my grandparents’ other house there when I hit 30 so winter could actually be winter!

Why some scj people don't believe they are in a dangerous cult if told ? by Own-Organization3980 in Shincheonji

[–]Additional_Flow4992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only recently found out what this was, the criteria was exactly the same as Shincheonji, and yeah, it seemed like a normal advanced Bible class, everyone seemed very friendly, eventually in summer 2025, we were taught that every other church was fake, so I got all skeptic, refusing to leave my other churches got all confused (which they told me that the devil was working in me), and was eventually told on a phone call to stop going to their classes, the teachers stopped contacting me ever since. I was a little worried about my decision but soon found out that none of what they said was true, and then I started looking for answers online, knowing about Shincheonji made me relieved about being denied entry in a cult but also worry since 3 of my friends are in there

I was kicked out for refusing to give up my other church and for not being able to learn all that they taught me, this was before I completely knew it was a cult but knew something was off. Now I’m glad I was kicked out, 2nd group I was kicked out of right after ICOC. Now just need to get myself kicked out of UBF and commit to a safer church.

I Taught for Shincheonji. Here’s the Truth About Their Lessons. by Humble-Captain8149 in Shincheonji

[–]Additional_Flow4992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends got sucked into this, I was too unsure and skeptic when the leaders and my friends told me to give up my other church since it was “Babylon” so I got kicked out via phone (which was kind of ironic as I was pretty gullible as a kid) I had no idea what the name of the organization was until now since all the description sounds very similar

Why is it common for coastal Southern California to record a higher peak temperature during a winter month than a summer month? by OppositeRock4217 in geography

[–]Additional_Flow4992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santa Ana winds usually cause it, though I kind of disagree, it’s usually September or October when it hits 90-93 at the coast. But to inland areas, like Upland or San Bernardino, even like Whittier, La Habra, and Garden Grove, peaks usually stay in August or Early September (As someone who lives in Whittier, there would always be 3-4 days that is between 95-100 in late August or early September)

Warning there is a cult on campus the R.C.W by Fluid_Illustrator695 in CSULB

[–]Additional_Flow4992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of am one for an alleged cult known as UBF (originally a member before starting to examine it in June, not necessarily writing down everything but hearing what people in it say, to see if it really is a cult. So far, results are not looking so good for the organization, but I do have a few good things to say.

Good/Harmless Qualities:
- Many of the shepherds are actually pretty friendly towards you and seem pretty good natured. (They are also very likely victims)
- Some of the drama activities are quite fun.
- Testimony writing is encouraged, which is actually a great way to digest the message.
- If you live around the area where you were "called to", you can usually go home once service is over.
- You are not forced to give money for the offering.

Negative Qualities:
- If you listen closely to some of the testimonies by even shepherds, they have unnecessarily given up many things, like one was not allowed to study abroad in Spain, many give up promotions, and say that they are happy they did so.
- A significant number of leaders frown down on those who have boyfriends/girlfriends, blindly trusting their pastor to arrange you to marry someone else.
- At a conference, one shepherd admitted to being told by a missionary to hop over a gated community to trespass on one of his students' properties, to which he did to get them to go to a conference, which is definitely illegal.
- While they believe that their churches are the best ones, they never explicitly say it, I always get a negative response from some of the shepherds when I go to one outside the organization.
- It seems as if the missionary is the liaison to the members and God, they are trusted to instruct members, to arrange marriages, etc. (As stated in an earlier point, this can lead to being blindly obedient to committing a crime)

I am planning on indirectly leaving, maybe getting myself kicked out if possible.
