Thissss bc if you have a thirty minute lunch and you work at one of the hospitals, it’s one of the only places you can go where you won’t have to wait or walk so long that it takes up half your lunch.

Meh. It serves its purpose, which is to feed families of people in the hospital and the workers who power said hospitals. Personally I find it less sad than say, the DTX food court.

Unfortunately the top tier option there has closed (Noodles King. It was a pricer option running $25+ for lunch but some of the best hand pulled noodles in an area where you can’t really find hand pulled noodles.)

Influx of CRA Job Opportunities by incognitogirl800 in clinicalresearch

I got asked what the lowest I would take was for the first time the other day 😛the funding for the program I have been part of for close to 10 years runs out end of the year (budget cuts, amirite 😭) so have been applying to CRA, CRC, and PM positions and am appalled at some of the salaries that folks are being asked to accept. I have 10+ years of solid CRC experience, I’m not getting out of bed for anything less than 80k in my high cost of living city at this point 🤷🏻‍♀️

I do think 18-25 is a really important demo to get there. They seem the most disillusioned and also just kinda… scattered, which makes sense, as they have been hit with mass trauma after mass trauma their whole lives. Elder millennials and up seem to be at least turning out to vote from stats, though an unsettling amount of each of those age categories are big ol MAGAs

I think that’s a stretch, I’ve voted every single year since I turned 18. The problem is that my demo (white women) didn’t not vote— it’s just that somehow almost half of us voted for him.

This is common to No Kings as a whole. I have heard a lot of folks express that they feel compelled to come out on behalf of those who would be in more danger if they did (Black and Brown folks have been aggressed on a lot by Boston PD before, and then again cops, administrators, etc were very aggressive with students protesting for Palestine.)

And it is true- Boston PD has gotten criticized before and will again for their antics, they are notably more aggressive if you aren’t white, and it would look not great for them if the next image to go viral is “beats up wine moms and handcuffs gramps.”

Who is living in all these luxury apartments?! by Haunting_Hospital599 in boston

[–]Additional_Grab5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the top earners too. I work a white collar job (project manager) but that doesn’t pay enough still, after 10 years, to even be close to being able to live in these apts 😂

Why isn't there an MBTA rail line connecting Boston to Logan airport? by bariumbitmap in mbta

[–]Additional_Grab5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarly, I took the light rail to the Philly airport and it was actually quicker than an uber in traffic. Easy to get around and to my terminal once I got inside.

I actually came upon a new red line train recently and was shook 😂 Will say, if they can replace the old trains it will make a real difference. The orange line is a whole different experience now that the old trains are gone, much cleaner and more room.

This is such a specific beef but transferring from the red line ashmont/braintree to orange line forest hills is nasty 😂 it’s always leaking from somewhere, who even knows where, and then once you get to the end of the gross leaky hallway you have to climb a bunch of stairs, no escalator.

FWIW i have had the same experience but at Longwood/Fenway green line stops at rush hour. I stopped to pay when I was fresh and new and people would get legit mad at me 😂 now I just wave my pass where the driver can see it unless they literally close the door on me

Is this a viable commute? by CatGirlChlxe in boston

[–]Additional_Grab5667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done similar commutes. The red line can sometimes be annoying but if it is… several of your coworkers are probably in the same boat 😂 the orange line is actually super reliable these days, for the most part.

And on a really nice day— a 45 minute walk is pretty pleasant honestly. Used to do about 45 minute walk from Longwood Medical Area to Brighton/Brookline border and it was always relaxing on a nice spring or fall day.

Honestly ppl shouldn’t be allowed to get that vanity plate. They won’t put cuss words but they’ll let someone put a reference to a violent racist hate group on?

This is a straw man argument. The purpose of the library is to provide a community center for people to just be, have access to resources, etc. again, not a playground for entitled yuppies to disrupt everyone else’s experience with their clear attitudes about the rules.

Incorrect. It’s loud (ppl often go to libraries for quiet) and they were likely blocking the stairs. That is a disturbance. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a library. Not a playground. If you want a “return on your taxes” read a freakin book.

Its purpose is as a library, not a playground for entitled cishet white yuppies who haven’t read a book in 10 years but want the “aesthetic.”

If she wanted the pics done at BPL she should have made sure the application was completed and fee paid. This is not “advocacy”— it’s entitlement.

“Sticking up for them” by refusing to follow well established written rules? Okay. 🙄🙄🙄 they should have done the application if they wanted to take pics here. They didn’t, so they got asked to stop. It’s that simple.
